Chapter 1047: Men Die for Wealth, Birds Die for Food
Kellan Gentry suddenly spoke, "Ordinary people seek the Mystical Immortal Token in vain, and Thunderous Mountain has obtained it, shouldn’t they secretly enter the island? Why are they preparing to sell it? This is illogical."
Bentley Frost explained, "Their Sect has recently encountered difficulties, planning to exchange the Mystical Immortal Token for enough benefits to tide over the crisis. While the Mystical Immortal Token is valuable, throughout history, it seems only one person has become an Immortal, and although others have significantly increased their strengths after leaving, such improvement is limited in helping a Sect."
"Everyone, of course, wants a good thing, but the Mystical Immortal Token only allows one person on the island. If it’s exchanged for resources or conditions that benefit the entire Sect, it’s actually not a loss."
Deacon Wolf blinked and suddenly smiled, "You make sense. With so many strong individuals in the Sect and only one Immortal Token, it’s a problem deciding who should go. It’s better to sell it and benefit everyone, without any hard feelings."
Bentley Frost laughed, "Unequal distribution brings more grievances than scarcity, it has always been so since ancient times."
Deacon Wolf looked at the silent Kellan Gentry and laughed, "But for our three groups, there is only one Immortal Token. How shall we divide it?"
Bentley Frost laughed, "I found out about this, and I planned the scheme. Naturally, the Immortal Token should be mine. However, I’ll take only the Immortal Token and give everything else to you. I want nothing else—how does that sound?"
Deacon Wolf furrowed his brow, "But the other items might not be comparable to the Immortal Token..."
Bentley Frost, smiling slyly, said, "I told you, I’m the initiator, so I should get some advantage. Actually, I could have kept this to myself and quietly obtained it, but I think it’s not fair. To clear things up first prevents chaos later; don’t you agree?"
