Chapter 477 Win and Stay, Lose and Get Lost_1
"Mount Liang..."
The group looked at the characters on the archway before them. Josie Howell asked, "The name of this Unknown Land?"
Garrett Howell glanced at the bluestone-paved road beneath their feet and said with a heavy voice, "This is the road entering the city, the characters on this arch... they should be, right?"
Jeffrey Howell exclaimed, "By its name, it should have been a paradise on a mountain. But now, it has become an Underground City, concealing itself from the sunlight. It’s uncertain what earth-shattering changes have happened here. And the people who lived here...where have they gone?"
The group stood under the archway, each feeling a curious mixture of emotions.
"Let’s go!"
They proceeded along the bluestone pavement towards the heart of the city and soon saw houses scattered in thoughtful disarray.
Unlike the sparse housing of the village they’d passed earlier, the houses here were clustered more densely.
Because they couldn’t fathom the layout of the entire town and everything was veiled in darkness, their vision was limited to only what was directly in front of them. They couldn’t pinpoint which locations were of importance and could only grope and search blindly.
This was nothing like exploring under the moonlight when the faint glimmer of stars outlined the shapes of buildings, revealing the layout within a certain range. In this Underground City, they were engulfed in pitch-black darkness, void of any illumination, making it tough to move even an inch!
It was like playing a mystery game where, within a completely dark area, the character has only a flashlight, with visibility being extremely limited. To explore an area, you would have to rely on memory, conjecture, and a bit of luck.
