The one knocking on the door was actually that monkey from last time!
It seemed to have been frightened, with all its fur standing on ends, making noises, appearing very anxious. As it continued to chitter, its eyes kept darting around, as if searching for something.
Zhao Mei was startled, and she urgently shouted, "Father, Mother, Jianye, come out quickly. The monkey that stole the fish last time is back, come see it quickly!"
Her shouting brought everyone out of their rooms.
