Petite Bao’er walked to the window, squinting at the sunlight streaming in. She strained her eyes to peer through the glow, almost as if she was trying to discern the truth hidden within.
The effort seemed painful, so eventually, Bao’er lowered her head. She rubbed her eyes and turned to the desk. No longer rubbing her eyes, she turned her gaze towards the hallway, where the door to her room was now open.
