Chapter 488 - 489: The Initial Manifestation of Doomsday
Upon opening the bedroom door, Chu You didn’t immediately go downstairs but instead turned to the door at the very end of the corridor on the second floor. He knocked lightly and instantly, Bao’er’s voice came from inside, "Is that you, brother? Come in."
Upon entering, Chu You saw Bao’er, in her school uniform, sitting at her desk, engrossed in her homework.
Bao’er’s room was awash in warm tones, giving it a very cozy feel. Rays of light from the setting sun permeated the room, seemingly draped in a layer of nostalgia. Seeing the petite girl, Chu You was overwhelmed with memories of his past life. This girl, once she grew up, became his girlfriend, with both sides investing their most sincere feelings towards each other.
My heart still lingers, but what about yours?! He thought to himself, a pang of pain flitting momentarily before he dismissed it. The concept of distance suddenly had a different connotation.
Bao’er seemed to sense something was off. She stopped writing and turned to look at Chu You, who was silently observing her. "Brother, what’s wrong?"
Though Chu You wanted to ask Bao’er why she had knocked on his door earlier, he didn’t know how to bring it up, as it was Little Qiao Red Queen who gave her that instruction. He was playing a game at the time, it’s not like he could tell her that piece of information directly, could he? Why are his room doors locked? The reason was obvious, too.
Little Qiao Red Queen was his biggest secret in real life and Chu You did not wish for Bao’er to meet Little Qiao and consequently, trigger a series of unexpected incidents driven by her curiosity.
"I just came to see Bao’er. Are you doing your homework?" Chu You gently said, as he walked over to Bao’er’s side.
"Yes, the assignments are quite easy. I’m almost done." Bao’er didn’t inquire about the knock on her door.
"Bao’er, how is it at school? Any special events or something?" Chu You felt compelled to ask.
"Well... there is one thing. We are about to start with virtual tech course, our teacher mentioned that it would come with extra charges." As she said the last line, her volume decreased significantly.
