The Battle in Journey to the West

Chapter 290 - 255: Acquiring Battle Armor, Pursued for Thousands of Miles

The Ox Demon King, following Laojun’s order, arrived at the base of Flame Mountain in search of treasures, only to discover on arrival that something was amiss.

The treasure was the Chi You Armor, an artifact from Chi You himself, though it was later shattered by the Xuanyuan Sword. Afterwards, Laojun laid down a Yin Yang Great Array and commenced re-refining this precious armor.

Just as he reached the base of the mountain, he found two individuals exerting their mana, struggling to extract the Chi You Armor but finding it exceedingly difficult to get their hands on it.

Upon seeing this, the Ox Demon King couldn’t help but bellow, cursing, "How dare you try to steal Old Bull’s treasure! Are you seeking death?"

The two were taken aback by these words, and turning their heads, they saw a Savage Bull rushing towards them with a Mixed-Iron Staff, swinging it around with the force capable of splitting mountains and the ground, its power surprisingly immense.

And just who were these two people?

They were none other than the Blood Demon Ancestor and the Green-robed Ancestor, who once besieged Shushan in an attempt to seize the Shennong Ding. Stumbling upon an inheritance left by Flying Liann, among which was a note regarding the Chi You Armor, they thus journeyed to this Flame Mountain. Flying Liann, a member of the Witch Clan and particularly sensitive to the aura of Chi You, had spent a considerable amount of time searching and finally discovered the whereabouts of the Chi You Armor. However, before he could share this secret, he was slain. Fortunately, he had recorded the matter, which then fell into the hands of the Blood Demon Ancestor and Green-robed Ancestor, leading them to Flame Mountain to seek out this armor.

The flames underneath this mountain were extremely scorching, and if not for the elixirs ingested by the Ox Demon King, he would have turned to ash within moments.

The magical prowess of both the Blood Demon Ancestor and the Green-robed Ancestor was formidable, just enough to protect them from the flames, but subduing the Chi You Armor was proving quite strenuous.

Wielding his Mixed-Iron Staff, the Ox Demon King struck with tremendous force, aiming a blow straight at the head! Should it connect, the result would surely be brains splattered everywhere, and their Primordial Spirits might not even have a chance to escape before death. He walked the same path as Mahoraga, believing that One Force Breaks Ten Thousand Laws. However, his strength was unfortunately inferior to that of Mahoraga—the latter, uniquely favored by fate in the path of strength, was truly a monstrous existence.

Although the Ox Demon King considered himself mighty, he was also aware that he lacked the ability to shake Mount Sumeru.
