Chapter 269: His Pain
The man agreed and left the house so Jayden and I could spend some time alone inside the apartment.
"This is where I was born. I was not born in a hospital because dad said it was too risky. When I was just a kid, mom would always make pancakes every morning." His lips curved, trying to control his emotions.
The kitchen was finished in brushed brass panels, that had an undermount sink giving a more streamlined design. The room was finished with a Trove wallcovering on the ceiling to serve as a faux skylight.
"Look! The pan was still there!" He exclaimed while walking toward the kitchen.
He took an old pan and bitterly smiled. I knew he remember how his mother would prepare breakfast for them every day.
"Did you know she was a clean freak?" He chuckled.
"She would scold me every time I made a mess in the living room. She wanted it to be clean always. And the kitchen? It’s her favorite place. She loves baking and I remember she baked a cake on my fifth birthday. It was this big made of chocolate." He continued while making a circle with his hands.
I smiled even though I felt like crying seeing his expression. It was hard for him to remember his memories with his mother. But he had to accept that she was no longer in this world.
He walked toward the doors and opened the one on the right.
