Chapter 329: Heartbroken Liuguang City
The rain was deafening. Inside the truck's cargo hold, the monitor alarms blared incessantly.
Sakai Huaqing stood blankly to the side. She watched Elizabeth, Old Cai, and Wilbur make yet another desperate attempt at resuscitation, but the equipment remained unresponsive. No matter what they did, they couldn't revive the pulse of that cranial neural signal.
"Go to the Fishpond and get the others to try!" Old Cai shouted.
Sakai Huaqing had asked earlier why they hadn't called the Fishpond crew for this job.
They had told her they'd considered it, but the others wouldn't be able to help this time, otherwise they would have brought them along.
But now, they could try. Everyone was so capable, it might just work...
"Let's go." Lorna suddenly stood up, a surge of energy sending her sprinting out of the truck. "We might have to split up to find them. Come on!"
Elizabeth and Sophia stayed behind to continue the resuscitation efforts.
Sakai Huaqing hurried after her. Soon, pedaling the flying bicycle she'd borrowed from Jane, with Lorna driving the Off-Road Vehicle beside her, they tore through the heavy rain toward the Fishpond.
