Three days passed, and Gu He still hadn't figured out if the Phantom Girl was alive.
But he did get one piece of news from Elizabeth: the Gifted had all been "recalled"!
Once the existence of the Gifted came to light, the Bank had distributed them to all the overdrive-tier potential heirs. Handed out like digital pets, they served as an additional source of support—and Elizabeth was the only one who hadn't received one.
"From what I've gathered, the Superhuman Association believes the Gifted have an unknown error and need to undergo further research and repair."
Elizabeth shared the news with Gu He. As of now, all the Gifted had returned to the Superhuman Research Association—except for the Phantom Girl.
Gu He still hadn't told Goose that the Phantom Girl was also a "Sharer," which essentially made them fellow disciples.
Holy crap. He'd just wanted to pull a fast one on Vic Sterling, hadn't he?
Now everyone, Sid Leikuo and Yosuke Harato included, had lost their Gifted. For the streets, and for Goose, this was great news.
But it also put him in danger. He was the one who had defeated the Phantom Girl; would they suspect he was the cause of her malfunction?
