Chapter 255: The Lively Morning at the Fishpond

Early that morning, Gu He walked into the Fishpond wearing a cyan Eastern-style tracksuit, clutching the Big Cup in his hand.

"Old Fan, you should get someone to fix the neon sign out front. It's still flashing in broad daylight—what a waste of electricity," he said, before catching sight of a figure he hadn't seen for days sitting at the bar. It was Vivian.

"Morning, Big He." Vivian was flipping through a photocopy of Sakai Shukichi's latest manuscript, which had been left on the bar.

Her medium-length, multicolored hair cascaded down. She wore a black top that bared her midriff and one shoulder, paired with a tight black miniskirt that accentuated her long, pale legs. Dressing like that in the dead of winter meant she clearly didn't fear the cold—though transcendents naturally possessed a much higher resistance to it.

"Morning." Gu He glanced toward the small kitchen behind the bar, where Old Fan was busy cooking.

The Big Cup in his hand suddenly vibrated, shining a beam of light onto Vivian. "I am the Big Cup, and you are a half-step big cup!"

"Huh?" Vivian, entirely out of the loop, blinked in surprise. "Big He, what's this about?"

Gu He walked over to the bar and took a seat, giving a helpless introduction. Vivian burst out laughing. She tossed the manuscript aside and reached out to examine the Big Cup.

"If I'm only a half-step big cup, then what exactly counts as a full big cup?" she asked.
