Chapter 188: Mental Health Clinic
The night was deep, and the neon sign for Adam's Mental Health Clinic flashed with a rose-red glow.
It wasn't a large medical center, nor was it hidden in the underground market. It was just a small street-side shop on Relief Street in the Tripod District, wedged between low, decrepit storefronts. Its exterior walls were plastered with small advertising flyers.
Right next to a "No Smoking" sign, a few colorfully dressed pedestrians leaned against the wall, smoking and chatting.
The surrounding roads were terrible. The pavement was riddled with potholes, collecting large puddles of foul, stagnant water. Beer cans and food wrappers were strewn everywhere; clearly, no one had cleaned up in a long time.
Lorna's Off-Road Vehicle was parked down the street. Right now, she and Pan were walking toward Adam's clinic.
"One look at a dump like this and you know they're running an illegal racket. It's got gang protection."
Lorna remained on high alert. The moment she stepped out of the car, she had already equipped her right arm with her Exoskeleton Prosthesis, ready to fight at a moment's notice.
Let alone Sakai Hanasei, even Gu He felt a faint twinge of nerves. He recalled Old Cai's warning: you couldn't just wander around the Tripod District, or you'd soon find yourself turned into merchandise.
They didn't loiter or strike up random conversations with passersby. Instead, they walked straight through the clinic entrance, its doorframe pulsing with blue light.
