Chapter 176: Misfortune Box
This stretch of Akiba Street ran alongside an elevated railway bridge. Every so often, a subway train roared past through the rainy night.
The street was narrow. A row of vehicles sat parked along the side nearest the elevated tracks, rain splattering against their roofs and foggy light reflecting off their windows. On the other side stood a row of night-market shops, huddled beneath a tangled mess of overhead wires and flashing neon signs.
Even in the rain, the alley was far from quiet. A steady stream of people bustled back and forth beneath umbrellas of every shape and color.
The crowds, the street, the high-rises, and the railway tracks all blurred in the distance, fading into the rainy night.
A heavy red-and-black Off-Road Vehicle pulled up to the curb, parking just behind an old van.
Two people stepped out: Lorna and Gu He.
Her needle-sharp black hair was interwoven with wires and silicone strips. Clad in a red leather jacket and black leather pants that highlighted her sharp, athletic figure, she wore her Exoskeleton Prosthesis on her right arm. A red-hilted katana rested in her grip, ready for a fight.
He, on the other hand, was still dressed in his colorful jacket and jeans. He had left his red bandana behind and carried nothing but a Thermos Cup.
"Lorna, take it easy."
