"Lorna, you still haven't paid the ten thousand you owe me from that bet! Damn it, you can't die!"
Crash! Belching black smoke, the Junk Chariot slammed into the giant monster on the Wasteland. Both the vehicle and its driver were seconds away from being absorbed into its massive foot.
The violent jolt nearly sent the cigarette flying from Lorna's lips. Her manic laughter abruptly stopped. She heard that idiot shouting again—his voice so close, so distinct.
She glanced back and saw a figure with Silver Wings streaking across the sky toward her.
At some point, the Silver Wings had been equipped on Gu He's back. He swooped in holding Chiba in one arm, looking like a bird-man.
Even though he wore a Cyber Cowboy Smiley Mask, Lorna recognized the leather jacket and jeans. It was definitely him.
The torn flesh and blood of those long Silver Wings had completely healed. Thousands of feathers gleamed in the sunlight, slicing through the Wasteland's fierce winds.
"Fuck..." Lorna's blood boiled. She had been at death's door, but now she was alive again. Her personality integrity was still compromised, leaving her consciousness slightly hazy. She couldn't tell if this was a delusion. "What the fuck are you..."
"It's us!" Chiba called back. "This net cowboy got a new program!"
