Chapter 119: The Low-Tech Tribe
"Humanity's endless technological expansion will only lead to destruction and a return to nothingness."
Gu He kept his arms wrapped around Jane's waist as she pedaled the bicycle. She had been talking the entire way, never pausing for breath.
If she were his client, he would have been thrilled whether he was working as a psychologist or a gigolo. She was more than willing to communicate.
She told him the Low-Tech tribe despised the sight of two people sitting face-to-face in silence. They loathed how people no longer knew how to speak—or even wanted to—without a machine.
"They always say technology brings us closer together, but isn't current development just driving us further apart? People chase illusions while turning a blind eye to what's right in front of them."
Gu He listened in silence, grasping their philosophy without making any judgments. The low-tech lifestyle was simply what it was.
But perhaps because Jane was talking so fast and so much, and because he hadn't slept well the night before, he soon found himself yawning...
If the night rain hadn't been freezing against his face, and the neon lights hadn't been so glaring, he would have fallen asleep right there against her back.
Just who was the nagging monk here...
