Chapter 262: I’m A Luminous Moon?
Daniel stared at the sky with tired eyes. This was his first defeat, and it honestly felt strange.
It wasn’t like he thought he would remain undefeated through his entire journey, but to suddenly lose like this—it felt weird.
He was used to winning, even against enemies far stronger than himself. Defeat was something he had never actually experienced.
But now? He had lost. And not to a Corruption Beast, or to some powerful S-rank Awakened, or something like that—but to a genius from his own generation.
Of course, there were reasons for it. Lana was a full rank above him, and she could use all her skills and the power of both of her Laws.
Meanwhile, Daniel was restricted to using only the power of the Law of Death; he couldn’t even use the Eternal Bloom because of what had happened to it.
All of his skills were, for now, unusable. And more importantly, this was just a sparring match.
If it had been a life-and-death fight, things would have gone very differently. In that kind of fight, he wouldn’t care about anything—he would definitely have used Eternal Energy.
Still, even then, he wasn’t entirely sure he could win with just the power of two Laws alone—he would most likely, almost certainly, need his skills.
"You really are a monster, kid. A freak of a monster." Schneitz walked over to him, ignoring his granddaughter entirely, and stared at Daniel.
Lana was also lying on the ground, gasping for air, clearly drained from the fight.
"I’ll take that as a compliment," Daniel laughed.
