Chapter 216: The Fallen God
The Prophet didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he looked at the Flower of Eternity. Countless memories passed through his eyes.
It looked like an entire eternity had passed within those eyes. In the end, he sighed and looked at Daniel.
"When you reach my level, you’ll realize you’re not nearly as powerful as you think you are..." He didn’t say anything more.
Daniel stayed silent, but strangely, he could feel the Prophet’s sorrowful tone.
It reminded him of a lion trapped in a cage—someone who thought he was ruling, only to realize he had been a prisoner all along.
Why does the Prophet feel like this? Could it be related to the Pagoda? Or maybe even the god Horvand?
"Can you tell me about Horvand?" His hesitation about accepting the decision grew even more.
Maybe it was all just in his head and the Prophet wasn’t dissatisfied at all. Still, Daniel didn’t want to risk losing his freedom.
"Horvand? He’s a god. Actually, one of the Seven Great Gods. What you should be worried about isn’t him... it’s the Order of the World that limits us." The Prophet smiled, though his smile couldn’t be seen.
