Chapter 871. Transcendent Poison Blood Union
Amon and Lin Li regrouped inside nearby woods before moving to another location far away. They entered a secluded cave before bringing out Yuka’s Prison Box again. He placed several battle puppets as sentries, including the repaired Titan Battle Puppet. He also told Lin Li to keep watch. He then entered the prison box’s portal.
Inside the prison box’s dimension, he went to a prepared room. Surressh and Dao Su were there, with Yao Ai chained and lying on a bed. Dao Su was performing some kind of operation on her.
Surressh noticed Amon entering and asked, "Is it time?"
"It is," Amon answered. "Tell Supreme Leader Krassazh that it is time."
Surressh nodded and left the room to send the message.
"It’s finally time, eh?" Dao Su asked. He spoke, but he didn’t stop the operation. His four hands deftly moved, and his eyes remained focused on his work. "Honestly, I never believed it would ever come to this. You truly are a miracle worker. I can hardly believe that a domain lord is lying on my operating table and I get to experiment with her."
"You are not experimenting with her. I gave you specific instructions on what to do with her," Amon said.
"Hehe. Your instructions are something new for me. It is no different than an experiment. I must say, if this work, you will have a new way to secure obedient followers."
"Obedient? Heh. We will see."
While working, Dao Su made a face that showed he had thought of something. He asked Amon, who was watching him work. "By the way, if you tell the Hyanids to make a move, that means you have used that poison?"
"I have," Amon answered.
"That is one unusual and dangerous poison. I am still traumatized by when you tested the poison here. I can’t imagine a poison like that exists. The one who created it must be one sick fellow."
The poison they were talking about was one of the poisons from the 101 Primal Poison Tome. Amon had learned this poison for quite some time, but only used it recently. It required very rare ingredients, and the rarest was the blood of a spirit beast with a necromancy ability. Amon had gained this ingredient a long time ago, when he was still in Aetheria’s surface world. The ingredient was the blood of the Soul Flayer, which Amon captured when they needed it to create the Demon Revealing Talisman.
The poison was called the Undead Pestilence Poison. It was what had caused the zombie plague in multiple cities in the southern part of the lower world’s three domains.
Amon used Dao Su’s altered bugs equipped with invisibility talismans to inject this poison into the food served at busy restaurants, causing the epidemic.
Amon was amused by Dao Su’s remark about the one who created the poison. That person was Mo Wang, who came from the same world as Amon. Mo Wang must have used the inspiration from zombie apocalypse stories when he created this poison.
Dao Su noticed Amon’s grin and said, "I truly don’t find that poison to be something suitable to be laughed at. Are you sure you want to release that poison to the world?"
"I already did," Amon replied.
"What if it becomes out of control. There is no point in conquering a dead world."
"Don’t worry. The person who created the poison understood its danger. He already added a safety mechanism."
"What safety mechanism?"
"The poison has a life span. It will only last for thirty days. After thirty days, the living poison inside the infected will die on its own. The plague it causes will stop."
"Really?" Dao Su didn’t sound convinced.
This detail was recorded in the 101 Primal Poison Tome with the recipe, but Amon had another piece of evidence.
"This poison has been used before," Amon told Dao Su. "I found a record in this lower world’s ancient past. When it happened, a kingdom was toppled."
Amon was sure it was Mo Wang who used it. The toppled kingdom should be his enemy. One that was powerful enough that he must resort to using this poison. The recorded history said that the plague ended after thirty days. The scribe who wrote the history couldn’t explain why or how it ended. The record was obscured, and from a very long time ago, so Amon didn’t worry that someone could connect this event to what was happening now.
"Well, if you say so. I still didn’t like that poison," Dao Su said.
"Yet, you asked for this poison," Amon said. He placed several vials filled with black liquid on the table.
Dao Su stopped his work upon seeing those vials. He picked up the vials and exclaimed, "Thank you! I can’t wait to experiment using this!"
"Hey, don’t get distracted from your current work... What do you want to do with that poison, anyway?"
"Hehe, you will see," Dao Su replied while grinning. He pocketed the vials before returning to his work.
"How much longer until you are done?" Amon asked.
"Not much longer," Dao Su answered. "But we’d better wait several days to let the openings fully close. With the cut marks gone, she wouldn’t know the exact spot. If she tries to remove it, she will face a higher risk since she doesn’t know where its precise location is."
"Good. Keep her sedated until I return. I want to be present when she wakes up."
"You are going somewhere?"
"No, but I might not be available. Yeresdyx should have completed the potion by now."
"Oh, that one? I want to observe you using it!" Dao Su demanded.
"You stay here and finish your work!" Amon responded. He left afterward.
He went to Yeresdyx’s workshop. As usual, the female Hyanid was busying herself. He asked her, "Have you completed it?"
Yeresdyx didn’t need Amon to spell out the item he was referring to. She nodded to him and went to pick up several bottles from a locked cupboard. She offered the bottles to him.
"This potion is powerful," Yeresdyx said. "What does it do exactly? When I tested it on Hyanid’s cells, it deteriorated the cells. Yet, it is not as destructive as a poison. What do you need it for?"
"You don’t need to worry about that," Amon answered. He took the bottles and left. The last thing he wanted was for others to attain the blessing provided by the potion in his hand. Hence, he preferred to leave Yeresdyx in the dark.
He went to another room, which was empty. That room had a seal on its entrance. He activated the seal so no one could disturb him. He placed a battle puppet with the vocal module, just in case there were intruders outside. However, he didn’t think he could do anything even if there were intruders once he drank the potion in his hand.
He decided not to worry about it. He had done all he could for security. He would have to leave things to fate at some point.
The bottles in his hand contained the Transcendent Poison Blood Union, the upgraded version of the Poison Blood Infusion Method. The potion was produced using Di Ying’s blood, a noble dragon. According to the description in the 101 Primal Poison Tome, as well as Mo Wang’s testimony, this potion could remove cultivation chokepoints all the way to the True God and True Devil Stages.
That was, of course, providing that his body successfully adapted to this potion. The potion was still considered a poison. If he failed, he might die. Just as when he consumed the Poison Blood Infusion Method, he would need several applications before he obtained the desired result.
He had twenty bottles containing the potion. The recipe said that he would need at least twelve applications to succeed, and there had to be a month’s interval between applications. These rules were the same as the Poison Blood Infusion Method. Hence, he asked Yeresdyx to concoct this many. He preferred not to ask her to produce more, but it would depend on his progress.
He didn’t dally. He stored nineteen bottles and opened the lid of the remaining one. The smell was strong, but didn’t bother him. He chugged the contents of the whole bottle in one go.
He was prepared, but it still took him aback. He felt as if he were being boiled from the inside.
’Was it this bad with the Poison Blood Infusion Method?’ He asked himself. He felt like it was worse this time, but it was probably a preconceived notion.
However, after a minute, he was sure it was worse this time. Piercing chills replaced the burning sensation inside him. After another minute, he felt like he was being electrocuted. His body spasmed involuntarily from the sensation.
’This was definitely worse!’ He exclaimed silently. Yet, he persevered. He gritted his teeth and forced himself to cultivate the method described in the recipe of the potion he just drank.
It went on for hours. Even if the battle puppet that monitored the outside world sent him warnings, or Lin Li sent him mental messages, he would not be aware of them. His attention was fully taken by the agony assailing his body. He didn’t give in, though. He continued to cultivate, determined to overcome this obstacle, as he had many others before.
