Qin Zhiyou watched as the doctors and nurses entered the nursery, seemingly to observe the baby’s condition. They were checking, and he waited outside. The county hospital had no means to treat this, but the affiliated hospital in Yan City was ranked first in cardiac surgery. The equipment here wasn’t adequate, so they couldn’t make a definitive diagnosis yet. It was suggested they transfer hospitals as soon as possible.
But Lu Weixi was still physically weak and might not be able to handle this blow. How should he tell her?
Originally, Qin Zhiyou had been reluctant to leave her side and wanted to return immediately after separating. But now, he didn’t dare face her right away out of fear she might become overly emotional and something might happen. Even if she recovered later, any stress during her postpartum confinement period could leave lasting health issues, which would still hurt her.
Outside the hospital room, his bodyguard was still waiting at the door. Qin Zhiyou tiptoed over and asked softly, "How is she? Is she asleep?"
