Xue Feifei picked up the phone to see that it was a call from a stranger, so she hung up directly.

After all, she is now a celebrity and can’t just answer random calls from unknown numbers. All work-related affairs are handled by her assistant and agent. Her personal number is only for people she has previously communicated with.

Sure enough, not long after she hung up, her assistant called her and mentioned a strange name: "Feifei, there was a call from a collaborator, a Mr. Wang from Hanhai Group. He asked you to answer the call later."

Xue Feifei knew of Qin Zhiyou, but not necessarily Mr. Wang, his secretary. However, there had been times when Xue Feifei and Lu Weixi went out drinking and got drunk, and Mr. Wang contacted Xue Feifei’s assistant on such occasions, so they both had each other’s mobile numbers. She turned to ask Lu Weixi, "Do you know of anyone surnamed Wang at Hanhai?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Weixi knew it was Secretary Wang: "His secretary. What’s the matter?"

Xue Feifei was also confused: "He just called me, I didn’t pick up, and then he contacted my assistant."

Did something happen to Qin Zhiyou? Lu Weixi was puzzled and quickly took out her phone to check, but there were no new incoming calls. The last conversation she had with Qin Zhiyou was when she refused his offer to pick her up, insisting on meeting Xue Feifei instead.

But why reach out to Xue Feifei instead of calling her directly if there was an issue?

As they were pondering this, Xue Feifei indeed got another call. She answered, "Hello, is this Mr. Wang from Hanhai?"

A familiar, low-pitched voice came through, "No, it’s Mr. Qin."

The caller was Qin Zhiyou, and Xue Feifei, holding the phone, looked at Lu Weixi, "Should I pass the phone to her?"

"No need, my call is for you."
