Lu Weixi was startled; undressing in front of Qin Zhiyou wasn’t new to her, after five years of marriage she had grown used to being naked before him. Her mind didn’t even consider that they were now divorced; she continued undressing as she asked, “Why have you come back? Why are you completely soaked?”
Qin Zhiyou stood by the door, staring at her intently, as if he had been frozen on the spot. It took a while before he answered in a hoarse voice, “The car broke down, right at the mountain gate. I came back first.”
Lu Weixi nodded, hearing his footsteps gradually approaching. She suddenly felt something was amiss. She quickly grabbed some clothes to cover herself, then hurried into the bathroom, “You should change your clothes, so you don’t catch a cold.”
The moment she shut the bathroom door, Zhiyou pulled it open again. Drenched from head to toe, he stood by the door, watching her.
She knew that look all too well; it was the gaze of a man looking at a woman. But that wasn’t right, they were already divorced–the divorce papers still warm.
“Qin Zhiyou, I’m going to take a shower,” Lu Weixi said, her voice half-warning, half-pleading, but clearly to no effect.
Qin Zhiyou continued to stand by the door, one hand bracing it, as if to prevent her from escaping. He didn’t say a word, his gaze never leaving her.
“Qin Zhiyou, we’re already divorced,” Lu Weixi held onto the wet piece of clothing, trying her best to cover herself, but the clothing couldn’t cover everything; when she covered the top, the bottom was exposed. In absolute desperation, she resorted to reminding him about the divorce.
But Qin Zhiyou showed no intention of leaving, “Just because we’re divorced, we can’t have a relationship?”
His question stopped Lu Weixi in her tracks. She thought… he wasn’t wrong. But after a pause, Zhiyou stepped forward and embraced her.
