Hearing Alex stop Uvo, the man’s thin patience disappears yet again, as if a switch inside him has been flipped.

“What?! Do you think I can’t even take care of these ants?! Are you underestimating me?!” he roars at Alex.

This Peasant thinks the Peasants in the suits are the problem.

“Shut the fuck up!” Alex yells back. “Obviously, you can take care of thousands of these peasant Mafia members. That’s not what I’m getting at.”

“So what do you want?!” Uvogin retorts.

Preferably, I want to fight them... for the loot... but considering the situation... what would be the smartest move?

“He is worried about ambushes,” Nobunaga says, stepping forward. “He was right last time; it’s worth taking precautions.”

“With so many enemies around... people can hide fairly easily,” Feitan chimes in.

Peasants.

“Yeah... I just wanted to point that out,” Alex says. “You can fight these pe... these pe... pe...”

“People!! ... These people on your own,” Alex clarifies, changing his choice of words at the last second. “However, we can’t just watch in a relaxed fashion. We need to back you up in case someone else shows up... that’s all I want to say.”

“... Is this really the time to play around with your pet?” Shalnark wonders, looking at Alex.

“...”

I am not doing that.

“Just do what I say, okay? Let’s split up into three teams, one on each side. The ones with the most injuries can stay back and survey the overall scene,” Alex suggests.

As Alex talks, the Mafia members loudly scream and fire their weapons into the air.

“You decide it on your own!” Uvogin says, cracking his knuckles. “The Peasants are waiting for me!”

“Stop infecting people with your language, little spider,” Franklin says, his face visibly annoyed as he stares at Alex’s head, the spider dancing on top of it without a care.

Now that she can actually talk with people, she’s become an even bigger menace.

Alex, instead of just watching Uvogin walk up to the leader of the Mafia community, slides down the hill as well and positions himself on the right side of the battlefield, far away from the mafia members.

He notices that Feitan is following him.

On the other side, Nobunaga and Machi position themselves directly across from Alex.

Shalnark, Shizuku, and Franklin stay behind.

After the leader of the Mafia member shoots Uvogin directly in the mouth and despairs at the sight of Uvogin catching the bullet with his teeth, Jewel is sliding across Alex’s head, visibly bored.

Princess Jewel needs some tasty chicken to enjoy this show.

“Jewel!” Alex says. “You need to get moving as well!”

Why? Where?

“Because we only got three sides covered. You are the best at using Zetsu... you can easily make it behind them and scout for more enemies. They’re bound to fucking show up. You also know what to pay attention to.”

Alex then hears Jewel speaking only to him.

Should Princess Jewel... take care of the Scarlet Peasant?

“...”

Kill him... kill them all. No time for holding back. That guy is a menace and can’t be reasoned with. Since we are allied with the Troupe and he’s feeding information directly to Hisoka, he’s as much of a threat to us as the clown himself. While I’d love to let things play out how they usually do to get an advantage, that clearly is no longer possible after what happened.

However... don’t risk anything. Your survival takes precedence over everything else, even if the entire Troupe dies.

Jewel then quickly scurries off, making her way through the dark desert and circling around the Mafia members.

“What is she gonna do?” Feitan asks him. “This pet has the potential to kill a similar number of people as Uvogin... It’s like sending off a missile.”

“Well... that’s the idea. Fuck the Mafia. Hopefully, she’ll just notice if they’ve planned something that we can’t deal with and maybe take out anyone worthwhile...” Alex mutters. “With that menace in their back rows, whatever they have planned is doomed to fail.”

“疑...” Feitan mutters. “However, she took down that Hunter leader. We’ll see.”

“I don’t speak Chinese!” Alex retorts angrily.

“Chinese?” Feitan wonders. “What is that?”

“...forget about it,” Alex says, shrugging.

Asshole.

Meanwhile, Uvogin continues to brutally butcher the Mafia members. He even throws a stone toward a nearby hill and kills a sniper, making Alex tense up.

Forgot about that... thankfully, he didn’t aim at me. I need to focus.

A few of the Mafia members run away, only for Feitan to step in front of them and brutally snap their necks, killing them instantly.

With all of the Mafia members dispatched by Uvogin, the ground covered in blood and corpses, Alex sees four people walking up to Uvogin. He immediately recognizes their relatively strong Aura, which they seem proud to show off.

“Are they really proud of showing off such a mediocre Ren? This is pathetic... Uvogin’s Aura is easily ten times as strong,” Alex mutters.

“In a Nen battle, such things as the strength of your Aura can be compensated for by good teamwork,” Feitan explains.

Alex, not interested in safeguarding Uvogin’s honor, takes out his [Magoroth’s Legacy R2] and tries to end the fight quickly.

“He can handle them,” Feitan says. “What you are doing now is not helping, since we want to draw out whoever is targeting us, right? If you kill them too early... they won’t act.”

“...”

Shit... he is kinda right.

“Maybe you are right,” Alex admits, lowering his bow.

The fight against the four Shadow Beasts proceeds almost in the same way Alex remembers it.

Uvogin almost immediately takes out Worm, who can’t even hurt him with his punches, and tries to drag him underground, only for Uvogin to reveal his Big Bang Impact, creating a huge explosion and tearing the ground apart as he focuses his Aura on his fist and strikes it. The three remaining Shadow Beasts, however, are intimidated, but do not flee, their confidence not yet broken.

While Uvogin struggles against their combined attacks, he gets targeted by Rabid Dog, the speedy Enhancer who uses his enhanced teeth to wound and paralyze him.

As he tries to strike back, Porcupine changes his hair into spikes and blocks his strike, rendering it completely harmless. Finally, with Uvogin paralyzed and bound to the ground, Leech injects worms into his wound, as his body is too tough to damage otherwise.

Alex desperately looks around, but sees nothing going on.

Uvogin, acting calmly despite the tough situation, kills Leech by biting off his head, his body still paralyzed. He then kills Rabid Dog by spitting a Nen-enhanced piece of bone at him, killing him instantly.

With only Porcupine left, Uvogin roars loudly.

Alex, who knew this was coming, quickly protects his ears by placing his hands over them. Despite that, he can still hear him and sees Porcupine die, his eyes full of shock.

“Fast reaction,” Feitan mutters, glancing at Alex. “Almost as if you’ve seen that coming.”

“...”

Shit.

“Get on my level; you guys are slow,” Alex replies confidently.

“It would seem that way...” Feitan states, now looking quite serious, his hands clenching for just a second.

With no enemy left, Alex looks around.

Did our presence and Jewel stop Kurapika from acting?! Shouldn’t he go for an ambush and target Uvogin?

“Shizuku, can you remove the poison?” he hears Shalnark ask from a distance as he slides down toward Uvogin, who’s still on the ground.

“I’ll try, I think I can remove the poison, but not the leeches,” Shizuku says after sliding down and walking up to Uvo.

Alex and Feitan, as well as Machi and Nobunaga, walk towards Uvogin.

Maybe this time I was wrong. Hmm... why is it so dark?!

Suddenly, Alex can’t help but look at the sky, as his eyes suddenly notice the darkness above him.

“A cloud?” Alex wonders, seeing a small cloud block the moonlight.

“That’s... not a cloud,” Feitan mutters. “It’s far too low. Prepare yourself!”

Alex and Feitan rush toward the others and toward the cloud flying directly above Uvogin.

Suddenly, a chain appears from the cloud and shoots toward the ground.

Fuck! What is going on?!

However, instead of targeting Uvogin, the chain suddenly sways and targets the heavily injured and overall slow Franklin, who is standing alone on top of the hill and is suddenly tied up and dragged toward the sky, like a fish being reeled in. Alex stomps onto the ground in rage, never having expected something like this to happen.

Motherfucker.

Alex quickly conjures a Magorian’s Rage Arrow lvl 6. He activates Ren and then focuses all of his Aura into the arrow, using Ko.

I think... fire should work best! Against whatever that fucking cloud is?!

Alex then activates and adds Fira Arrow to the attack. With the full number of Rage Illusions, he shoots 36 fiery arrows toward the mysterious cloud.

“White... Blow!” Alex hears a rough yet distinct female voice yell.

A huge cloudlike fist of white smoke shoots forward against the arrows.

Quite a few Rage Illusions are destroyed in the process, but Alex still sees a lot of them making it past the attack, approaching the cloud.

But he quickly senses movement inside the smoke, and his remaining arrows are seemingly destroyed as well.

No damage notification... shit.

“Come down, you fucking pussy,” Alex yells angrily.

Where is Jewel?! I need her! What can I do against a cloud?!

However, the cloud is already stopping, no longer approaching the ground. Suddenly, Alex sees an object fall from above.

Guarded, Alex steps away, only to see Franklin’s head hit the ground.

“Franklin!” Nobunaga yells, his eyes full of shock.

“Stay back! Use Gyo, they might want to do that again!” Alex yells, immediately using it himself.

However, as he uses it, he already sees the chains targeting Machi.

Alex rushes forward, using his Aura to propel himself forward.

If he hits me with his Hatsu, he’ll immediately die from the backlash. Hit me, go on!

As he throws his entire body in front of Machi, he sees the chain switch directions once again and wrap itself around the still-paralyzed Uvogin, pulling him into the sky as well.

“Uvo!” Nobunaga roars, jumping into the sky, drawing his sword, and slashing at the chain. However, despite his sword making contact, the chain remains unharmed.

Machi, seething with rage, quickly moves her arm and appears to throw something at Uvogin, before he disappears into the cloud.

The cloud of smoke suddenly begins to shrink as it disappears, revealing a small airship underneath that is flying away toward the city at high speed.

“Fuck!” Alex curses.

“I... I stuck in a needle,” Machi informs them, holding up a finger with a Nen string connected to it, before her eyes twitch and the finger shakes.

“They... they found it. This is... unbelievable,” Machi realizes, as the string is no longer pulled, but now fluttering aimlessly in the wind.

I got completely outdone... what the fuck was that?! Smoke... this?! Smoker’s Devil Fruit? Wait a minute... during the auction a couple of months ago, didn’t someone sell it?

That player... recruited Kurapika to use his one-shot ability to catch the Troupe. He already killed Franklin... Uvogin is as good as dead, too.

And I didn’t even see his... or her face. The voice sounded somewhat female, though....

Probably more than one player... because only idiots shout out their moves....

Fuck, I thought the PvP part was over.
