Cultivator of the End: I Refine My Own Death

Chapter 90 – The Infinite Path

Rin stood at the edge of the Endless Horizon, gazing into the vast expanse before him. The realm stretched infinitely in every direction, an ever-shifting plane where the boundaries of time and space no longer held sway. There were no stars here, no celestial bodies to mark the passage of time. Only an unbroken horizon, stretching outward into the unknown, undisturbed by any force but its own endless, unfolding nature.

The air, if it could be called air, was thick with the energy of possibility. Each step Rin took echoed with the potential of countless futures, each one a path that stretched forward, intertwining with the fates of untold beings, worlds, and realms. This was not a place of stability or certainty. It was the very embodiment of choice—an infinite number of paths, each one leading to a different reality, a different outcome.

Rin had once sought to control the universe. He had sought to break free of the cycle of life and death, to transcend the constraints of mortality and immortality alike. But now, standing at the threshold of the Endless Horizon, he understood that true freedom was not in escaping the cycle. It was in understanding it, embracing it, and becoming a part of its infinite flow.

As he stepped forward, the ground beneath him shifted, pulling him into the currents of possibility. He was no longer bound by a single path. Here, in the Endless Horizon, every choice was available to him. Each step forward branched into a thousand new realities, a thousand new lives, a thousand potential outcomes. He could follow any of these paths—lead a new existence, reshape the very nature of being, or drift between them all like a leaf caught in the wind.

And yet, there was no rush. No urgency. For in this place, time had no meaning. There were no destinations, no final goal to reach. The journey itself was the only truth. Rin had transcended the limitations of existence, and now he understood that the universe was not a thing to be controlled or conquered. It was a thing to be understood. And in that understanding, the true beauty of existence was revealed.

The paths stretched out before him, some faint and barely discernible, others bold and vibrant, each representing a potential reality. He saw flashes of possible worlds, glimpses of lives and futures that could have been, or might yet be. There were worlds where he had never left the mortal realm, where he had failed and succumbed to the cycle of death. There were worlds where he had succeeded, risen to power, and shattered the heavens. And there were worlds where he had simply watched, a silent observer, allowing the universe to unfold without interference.

But none of these paths mattered more than the others. They were simply possibilities, the manifestation of choices yet to be made. And here, in the Endless Horizon, Rin understood that it was not the outcome of these paths that mattered—it was the freedom to choose them.

As he walked further into the horizon, the paths seemed to multiply, expanding in every direction. Each one offered a different version of himself, a different version of the universe. There was no limit to the number of realities he could explore, no end to the number of choices he could make. Every choice would lead him somewhere new, somewhere unexpected, and yet, all of them were merely part of the same eternal flow.
