Chapter 58: The journey to Leacus
With the boat now ready for use, the King and his guard were ready to make their departure.
"I would like to thank you once again for Your Majesty's assistance in this crisis we are facing. On behalf of King Aeson and the Kingdom of Leacus, we offer our sincerest gratitude," one of the envoys said, his tone formal.
Ceremus waved off the excessive thanks with a dismissive gesture. "It's nothing. I just hope this beast is as terrifying as you lot made it out to be."
The envoy's eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly regained his composure. "Y-Yes, Your Majesty."
Ceremus' gaze shifted, scanning the port in search of a familiar face. "Where is Hael?"
"I'm here, Your Majesty," came Hael's voice, and Ceremus turned to see the young man approaching.
Hael was dressed in a white and light blue tunic, his long hair braided neatly, revealing his sharp, angular features. Loki, perched casually on his shoulder, made quite the sight beside him.
Ceremus raised an eyebrow, his gaze settling on the bird. "So, you did bring him along," he remarked.
Hael nodded, and Ceremus let out a soft sigh. He then beckoned Anemone, who had been standing off to the side. The advisor reached into his pocket and pulled out a small purple pouch. From it, he retrieved a golden ring, which he handed to the guard.
Hael furrowed his brows in confusion and looked at Ceremus, silently questioning the purpose of the ring.
"It's a golden ring with the royal crest engraved on it," Ceremus explained. "It will serve as proof that Loki belongs to the Kingdom."
