Chapter 86: Guild System
It started with a strange hum in the air.
A low, sticky sound, like something bubbling under the soil. Then the earth trembled—not enough to knock things over, but enough to make Caelen freeze mid-bite at breakfast.
He stepped outside.
The woods beyond the southern ridge shimmered with an unnatural energy. Birds scattered. Even the wind felt off.
Caelen squinted. Then he saw them.
"Zira! Get Garin! Now!"
Dozens of slimes oozed out from the tree line, glistening blobs of green and purple. And behind them, shadows moved—something bigger, snarling and slow.
Within minutes, Zira, Garin, and a handful of villagers stood around Caelen, staring into the woods.
"They're not scouts this time," Garin muttered. "That's a whole invasion."
Caelen activated his Scan.
