Chapter 499: The Unfilial Son
Father Tang woke up and really pointed at Tang Chuxia’s nose, it took him quite a while to come to his senses, and in the end, he still roared in grief and indignation, "Tang Chuxia, you unfilial child!"
Tang Chuxia thought about it—her dad’s words were a bit ambiguous.
What did he mean by an unfilial child?
"Gu Beihuai, listen, does what my dad says even make sense? How can he call me an unfilial child? I am clearly an unfilial daughter!"
This use of words was too much!
Gu Beihuai held his forehead.
He really didn’t want to argue with Tang Chuxia over this, but it was obvious that Tang Chuxia herself was rather pleased to have caught Father Tang in a mistake.
Father Tang, groaning with pain, directed Tang Jianbing, "Hurry and collect your grandparents’ bones properly; they can’t be left out like this!"
Tang Jianbing was also helpless and asked, pointing to the bones on the ground, "Aren’t we going to match them up?"
If the two sets of bones were mixed together, it didn’t look right.
Father Tang bellowed, "Match what? They were going to be buried together anyway!"
Tang Jianbing thought about it and seemed to realize that made sense, so he just gathered them together without further ado, to spare his father and mother from being upset.
Tang Chuxia seemed to think that wasn’t quite stimulating enough and went further, "Dad, you can’t be like this, it’s just some bones, and you’re this scared. Anyone who didn’t know might think you were unfilial!"
Father Tang: ...
Could he throw this daughter away?
He honestly couldn’t take it anymore, it was too infuriating.
Tang Chuxia stuck out her tongue, knowing she had unnecessarily provoked Father Tang too much, and then turned to Gu Beihuai, "You guys really should preserve what’s inside the cave!"
Gu Beihuai reminded her, "What you need to do now is rest, not worry about all this messy stuff!"
Tang Chuxia felt helpless; she didn’t want to worry, but Su Lan, that woman aroused her strong interest.
It so happened that her Young Aunt and Young Uncle came to visit her at this time, and Tang Chuxia naturally brought up the matter concerning Su Lan.
Under Young Aunt’s murderous glare, Young Uncle still faced the pressure and said something about Su Lan.
"I don’t know much about her, only because we were classmates do I know a bit!"
Young Uncle’s words left Tang Chuxia deep in thought. Something was off, and she always felt that if Su Lan was Beast Child, it shouldn’t have been solely to get to know Young Uncle.
Because it defied logic.
As Tang Chuxia pondered, Young Aunt asked, "Xiaxia, do you know something? Does that Su Lan still have feelings for your Young Uncle?"
Tang Chuxia immediately waved her hands, "How could that be? Su Lan is interested in her own brother!"
After Tang Chuxia finished speaking, Young Aunt was so shocked that she couldn’t close her mouth and turned to twist Young Uncle’s ear, "So it turns out you old ghost still aren’t liked by anyone, are you asking to be humiliated?"
Young Uncle felt wronged, how had this come back to him? He hadn’t done anything at all. Tang Chuxia was left in a mix of laughter and tears, reminding Young Aunt, "There probably really is nothing between Su Lan and Young Uncle, maybe she really just needed him for a letter of introduction!"
In this regard, Tang Chuxia still believed Su Lan.
That woman might seem brutal and fierce, but she probably wasn’t completely devoid of humanity.
So, what seemed most likely was that she and Young Uncle really had nothing going on.
Young Aunt sighed, "Let’s hope so!"
Young Uncle, rubbing his ears, showed an innocent face, "Next time, can you not twist my ear?"
Young Aunt, hands on hips, retorted, "I’ll twist it if I want to, what’s it to you? You got a problem with that? Then, I’ll go talk to our mom right now!"
Young Uncle stopped protesting, but when he saw Young Aunt about to fly off the handle, he quickly reminded her, "Don’t get upset, be careful of the baby!"
This remark landed like a bombshell, causing everyone in the sick room to freeze.
Tang Chuxia gazed at Young Aunt’s belly, her face a picture of astonishment, "Pregnant?"
Young Aunt looked embarrassed, slapping Young Uncle on the arm, "Oh, you weren’t supposed to say that, it’s not even three months yet!"
Tang Chuxia then looked at Young Uncle, "Impressive, congratulations Young Uncle, you’ve finally cleared your name!"
The way she said it made Young Uncle want to disown his kin and take care of Tang Chuxia, but ultimately, under Madam Tang’s gaze, he chose to hold back. A wrong move might lead to a family tragedy!
However, it really wasn’t easy for Young Aunt to get pregnant.
Tang Chuxia truly congratulated Young Aunt all around, making her, a person with usually thick skin, unable to withstand the praise, dragging Young Uncle out with her.
Tang Chuxia took a sip of tea, trying to soothe her somewhat uncomfortable throat, before turning to Gu Beihuai, "What’s wrong with you?"
Gu Beihuai looked puzzled, "What could be wrong with me?"
Tang Chuxia thought about it, indeed nothing should be wrong, but subconsciously, she wanted everyone to leave, she needed rest.
Although she was feeling better after waking from her faint, the body doesn’t replenish blood in a day; rest was essential.
However, when Gu Beihuai saw Tang Chuxia yawning, he said, "I need to step out for a bit. If there’s anything you need, just call someone. Zhizhi and the rest are all here, so don’t hesitate to ask for help!"
Tang Chuxia waved him off, telling Gu Beihuai to go about his business.
Although she didn’t know what Gu Beihuai was busy with, she understood he had his reasons, and she decided not to meddle.
Once Gu Beihuai left, the people in the room began to ask Tang Chuxia what exactly had happened in the cave.
Tang Chuxia paused before replying, "Nothing much, I’m going to check on those three guys!"
It wasn’t that Tang Chuxia was too nice, she simply didn’t want to relive the scene she had witnessed in the cave, for fear of having nightmares.
As Tang Chuxia strolled over to the orthopedic ward, what she saw was the three young masters surprisingly sharing a room, whether there were no single rooms left or they had requested to be together. The three of them gathered and were discussing the events in the cave and some changes to their bodies.
It was both hilarious and pitiable.
When they saw Tang Chuxia entering the room, their eyes widened in shock, "Why are you here? Are you feeling better?"
Yang Yingjie looked at Tang Chuxia with concern.
After all, she had been through a lot and had even fainted.
Tang Chuxia waved it off, "It’s no big deal, but what about you guys, why are you still hanging up there?"
Their legs were broken, and now each of their legs were suspended in midair, despite it not being a thigh fracture, just a broken lower leg.
Jin Haidong was the first to burst into tears after she asked that question.
"Sister Xiaxia, please talk to the doctors, I really don’t want to be hanging here, it’s too painful!"
