Chapter 432: Is it pretty?
Tang Chuxia scratched her head, "Oh, you’re going to worry yourself sick!"
Dangdang tilted her head looking at her.
"What does that mean?"
Tang Chuxia, unable to stand Dangdang’s gaze any longer, reluctantly explained, "Beihuai and I are different; we were archenemies before. Even getting married was because I was after his looks, and he had no choice. Marriage requires vows, and I don’t want to force anyone!"
Dangdang pouted, "I don’t believe that. You still have to take an oath when you get a marriage license, right? Both of you got your license, so what’s there to fear about the traditional wedding ceremony?"
What on earth did she mean by ’after his looks’?
Her gaze towards Tang Chuxia started to shift.
"Isn’t it always said that only men are after looks? How come you are the one after looks?" Dangdang couldn’t understand.
Tang Chuxia chuckled, "You don’t get it, do you? Are you telling me you don’t want to touch Wu Haipeng’s abs? A man, if not for his face or family background, why marry him if there aren’t looks to admire?"
Dangdang’s mouth hung open in shock.
This was the first time she had heard such a conclusion.
The key was that Tang Chuxia said it so confidently, without showing any embarrassment.
"Besides, think about it, men and women alike, who doesn’t have some naughty thoughts? Even if a face is good-looking, once the lights are out, isn’t everything dependent on touch and hearing? So, what’s wrong with admitting I’m after his looks?"
Was that even the same thing?
Dangdang felt her brain tying in knots.
Her gaze at Tang Chuxia started to become wary.
She even doubted if there was something wrong with her brain.
How could she be hearing such a bizarre statement?
"When you look at Wu Haipeng, don’t you admire his robust physique and the sense of security he gives? If you had no such thoughts, you wouldn’t have chosen Wu Haipeng over Hu Kai, right?" Tang Chuxia winked, seeing Dangdang still doubting life, and continued to tease, "A husband who is a special forces soldier is indeed different!"
Dangdang’s face flushed, unable to stop Tang Chuxia from expressing herself, "Even if he was still in service, it’s fine because you only see him a few days a year. What could you do? But Wu Haipeng is already retired, he can be with you every day!"
Dangdang, despite not wanting to think negatively, found it hard not to.
"Tang Chuxia, how can you be so bold?" Dangdang tried to cover Tang Chuxia’s mouth.
Tang Chuxia dodged, "Hey, I’m just telling the truth. We may be women, but we shouldn’t be so shy. Men love excitement! You’ll understand once you’re married!"
After Tang Chuxia’s endless insinuations, Dangdang shyly ran away.
She wasn’t married yet; how could she withstand Tang Chuxia’s naughty narrative?
As Tang Chuxia watched Dangdang run out, she twirled a pen in her hand and suddenly got inspired. By the time she had drawn the design for the wedding dress, Beihuai had come back from outside.
He hugged Tang Chuxia, peering over her shoulder, and spotted the wedding dress she was drawing.
"Can we have the wedding now?"
Beihuai was somewhat excited, only to hear Tang Chuxia say, "This is for Dangdang; she and Wu Haipeng are planning to have the wedding directly!"
Beihuai’s face fell immediately.
"What do you mean? Are you not planning to have a wedding?"
Tang Chuxia nodded, "Not at the moment!"
Beihuai was really frustrated, failing to understand why Tang Chuxia didn’t want to have a wedding?
Tang Chuxia instinctively didn’t want to get married at this time and didn’t feel like explaining.
Seeing Beihuai getting upset, she turned around and hugged him, "It’s late, perfect for some naughty stuff, can I be the queen today?"
Beihuai was stirred by Tang Chuxia’s teasing fingers.
He didn’t continue to ask her reasons, knowing that questioning would yield nothing.
The night in early spring was still quite chilly, but for the little courtyard at that moment, it was brimming with the breath of spring, rich and intoxicating in the nocturnal haze.
After the moon climbed to the western sky, the two of them finally settled down.
Beihuai gazed at Tang Chuxia, who was quietly sleeping in his arms, his heart filled with mixed feelings.
Actually, he had overheard what Tang Chuxia said earlier by the door.
His fingers traced her brows and eyes; despite his exhaustion, he couldn’t fall asleep.
"It really wasn’t out of desperation!" Beihuai whispered almost inaudibly, but he also knew that it was unlikely Tang Chuxia would believe him.
In that situation, anyone would doubt the sincerity.
Even now, as close as they were, it was still hard for Tang Chuxia to completely open her heart to him.
Beihuai always felt that at that moment, Tang Chuxia was hard to approach—she had her own tightly sealed circle that no one could enter. Despite her daily radiant smiles making everyone comfortable around her, she still gave Beihuai a sense of being out of reach.
"Who are you really?"
Beihuai tenderly kissed Tang Chuxia’s forehead and fell asleep holding her.
Because he knew he didn’t want the answer.
The next day, when Tang Chuxia opened her eyes, the sun was already high, and everyone was busy with their own affairs; only Tang Chuxia, yawning, got up to look for something to eat next door.
If you asked where Beihuai had gone? Tang Chuxia really didn’t know.
Beihuai must have left early, since the spot next to her had already gone cold when she got up.
Licorice brought out the food and watched Tang Chuxia eat.
"What’s up?"
Tang Chuxia felt uneasy under Licorice’s gaze.
Licorice, with her chin propped up, stated confidently, "Sister Xiaxia, you look especially beautiful today—it’s like your skin is glowing!"
Tang Chuxia: ...
Although... but... Moderate exercise indeed contributes to beauty.
To change the subject, Tang Chuxia bit into a pancake and said, "Licorice, come with me later to buy some fabric!"
The bridal red dress Tang Chuxia was involved with was somewhat different from traditional ones, needing her to make her own patterns.
Thinking of making the patterns, Tang Chuxia realized she had no model, but fortunately, the young guy knew everything—she planned to have him help her build a model.
After eating, the two headed to the store; for the bridal red dress they only needed red fabric. Originally, she wanted to add embroidery, but there wasn’t enough time, so Tang Chuxia bought a lot of white gauze intending to dye it red herself.
With everything ready, Tang Chuxia began to cut the fabric.
When the finished product emerged, Licorice exclaimed, "Isn’t this too beautiful?"
Tang Chuxia, circling her finished product, declared, "Of course, who else could have made it?"
Licorice laughed, liking the confident look on Tang Chuxia.
"Sister Xiaxia, do you want to try it? I feel like you’d look super beautiful in it!"
Tang Chuxia also thought the wedding dress needed a try-on. She put it on to see if there were any areas that needed adjustment. When she saw herself in the mirror, she felt the outfit suited a bolder makeup look.
So, she applied makeup and, lifting the hem of her dress, asked Licorice, "Does it look good?"
Licorice didn’t answer, but someone at the door did, "Super beautiful!"
