Chapter 243: Three-legged
Father Tang shuddered, startled by Madam Tang’s shout.
"How could that be possible? I must be out of my mind!"
Father Tang’s reaction was quick, at least quick enough not to anger Madam Tang further.
Wen Wenqing began to cry again, and Mr. Hu patted her shoulder, "Alright, stop crying, now think about what to do!"
Father Tang nodded along, "That’s the way to go!"
Everyone’s discussion was displeasing to Madam Tang. She looked around and pointed at Wen Wenqing, "Speak up yourself, what exactly happened? Weren’t you told to get lost?"
Wen Wenqing dared not confront Madam Tang head-on and could only explain the situation with a sense of grievance.
The gist was this: Mr. Hu had gone to seek out Yang Chao to discuss the marriage between Tang Wanqiu and Hu Mingcheng, but Yang Chao warned Mr. Hu that he did not agree with the marriage and told Mr. Hu to get lost.
Mr. Hu was furious. He returned to complain to Father Tang and ran into Wen Wenqing. Upon learning that Yang Chao had returned, he feared that Yang Chao would soon be coming for them.
He was scared.
After hearing the story, Madam Tang laughed gleefully, and so did Tang Chuxia.
