Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.800 The Final Repair

The day is here. Holactie is ready with a plan, and I’m ready to help her execute it.

Sadly it isn’t quite as simple as we wanted it to be. Holactie can’t just be summoned somewhere and fix everything from that one location.

So instead, I’ll have to summon her in one of the nineteen different locations we picked beforehand, then teleport her to the other nineteen. Meanwhile my soul copies will be in the locations has already been in, using both Origin Energy Control and Numeron Code Reality Manipulation to make sure her new barrier doesn’t break until it is completed.

It is a bit more work than I would have liked, but gotta do what you gotta do. Better than having to deal with multiple fissures a week.

Now the reason why the ‘prime me’ has to stick with her is because being too far from a Divine Sleeve monster causes stress on the dimensional barrier. Which isn’t optimal while we are essentially making a new dimensional barrier.

This wouldn’t be a problem with a regular monster, but Divine monsters require that extra bit of attention.

I had already deployed myself to the locations, so I made a copy of myself to stay here and then I summoned Holactie and we began the operation.

“Master, have all of your copies start the dimensional barrier reinforcement.” Holactie said.

“On it.” I answered. In just a few seconds, my 19 copies were doing it. “They’ve begun.” I confirmed.

“Good. Then so shall I.” She said and began doing her thing.

The first place didn’t take long, us only spending around a minute there. So we teleported to the second location and kept going.

But I quickly noticed something. With each sequent place, it took Holactie longer and longer, while she seemed to be doing less and less. It wasn’t how we practiced in the Factory, so I asked her about it.

“Why are you going so slow?”

“I’m taking more care. The real world isn’t as forgiving and if we fail, the existing barrier may crash with our current one. We are still more than on schedule.” She answered.

It made sense to me, but I’d have preferred it if she had warned me beforehand.

The same pattern kept up, while it also began to feel like Holactie was doing less and less at each spot, despite taking more time. But it has to be because she is just careful, right?

Not like I’m doing anything more than what the plan demanded.

Eventually we got to the nineteenth and final spot. But for some reason it was the fastest by far, only taking a few seconds before something clicked into place, and all of my copies also felt it.

“And we are done.” Holactie said.

“... good.” I just didn’t really have any words. We were done. No more fissures. Ever. … well, forever is a really long time. But there shouldn’t be any for a while.

I had all of my copies use All-Sight on the barrier, just to confirm it really was perfect. And it looked great to me, but admittedly I don’t know it as well as I probably should.

“So anything more or should I just … unsummon you?” I asked Holactie.

“You can unsummon me.” She confirmed. “And when you want to learn how to do this fully by yourself, you know where I am.”

“Yeah. I’ll be in the Factory later … wait. Fully? … how much of the work did I actually do?”

“Around 70%” Holactie answered.

“Seventy? What the fu… You … fricking god. Why?”

“Because it is better for everyone.” Holactie said. “You are a God in this world. Yes one of the Timeline, not Dimensions or Creation, but you are the local God. It should be you fixing this world. I did what I did because you were against being a God, but I did things this way to make you realize that whether you want it or not, you already are one.”

“So you tricked me.”

“In a sense.” She admitted. “But what I said is also true. I couldn’t have fixed the barrier on my own. I may be a Creator God, but a creator god of this world. My power alone wouldn’t have made a solid, permanent barrier. Just something temporary that would last a few decades, maybe a century.” She reasoned. “But you. What you made will last a lot longer.”

“... alright. Just … tell me next time.”

“I assumed you wouldn’t believe me. You still see us as more powerful than you. We aren’t. Not me, not Numeron. Not Numeronious. Not Exodia. We are only more skilled. But in terms of power, you’ve grown to equal us.”

“... fine. … so now what?”

“I can’t answer that. I am just an avatar of a god of a different world. You are the living God of this world. Decide what you want to do.”

“... yeah. I suppose. But … when I die… what then?”

“I do not know. I was never alive in the way you are.”

“... alright. Well, see you in the Factory.” I told the Creator God and unsummoned her.

I then teleported to HomeBase and told everyone the good news.

The next night, as I was just peacefully sleeping, I woke up to a sensation of my soul being pulled from my body. Something that should be impossible all things considered.

Not only because of my level and my Soul Magic resistance, but also because HomeBase has the barriers to stop any sort of Soul Magic that could do anything like that.

That woke me right up and I activated every combat skill I safely could. I’m not taking any chances with someone who can affect my soul. I also pulled open my Pack Opener, to the tab that held my ‘Divine’ deck. It was just a quick select deck that contained all of my Super Gods and the cards needed to summon them.

My soul was then moved out of the very world itself, but not to anywhere I knew. I expected that I was being pulled to the System parlor or something, but I was going way further, to outside the world.

That is when I lost the ability to track where I was going. I understood this world, but going beyond it, not so much. I tried to take in as much as possible, but there was way too much around me. So many worlds that I couldn’t keep track of them all, so I focused on keeping a track on the one I came from, so that I could return after I have agency again.

I stopped in a white void between worlds. … at least I think all those cores of power are worlds. They put out origin energy, like the Chaos God Dimension, so I think they are worlds similar to the one I live in, ones powered by a Chaos God Dimension.

I was tempted to count the worlds, but it wouldn’t serve a purpose and I wasn’t alone in the space.

A black-haired pre-teen kid with red eyes was there with me. Dressed in a green tank top and blue shorts, and sitting on what looked like a brown hoodie. Which was literally laid on nothing, as there was no ground, but he was somehow still able to sit on it.

And I suppose I was standing on the groundless ground as well.

I quickly realized that he fit the description Hiro gave me about the God who reincarnated him. Age, hair and eye color, and the general choice of outfit all matched. But I do wish I’d have brought Hiro into the Memory Palace and looked over his memories of this meeting.

Since I realized who he was, I mostly brought down my guard. From what I know, he isn’t evil, so we likely don’t have to fight.

“Ami Brian Wood.” He began. “... may I call you Brian? You allow others to do so …”

“Go for it.” I agreed. “And you are?”

“I go by Mathias.” He answered. “You know of me, don’t you?”

“A little. Just what Hiro … Togawa Shunsuke, told me. You are a God who reincarnates people.”

“Yes, but no. I am currently responsible for taking souls to the afterlife in section 4 of independent worlds of world tier 9. Usually, when a person dies, their soul is annihilated and used to make a new soul. Basically reincarnation that doesn’t carry any memories, personality traits or anything else.”

“I follow so far. Keep going, please.”

“Sometimes people die before their time, so a reincarnation or afterlife is a better option. Living, under most circumstances, burns away a soul. Burdens you carry. Worries you have. Everything weighs on your soul. And if your soul doesn’t quite fit into the criteria we need, the soul needs to either be placed into afterlife or reincarnated with their memories. Afterlife is not always the correct choice, as it can make a restless soul uncontrollable, and they may destroy the afterlife they are placed in.”

“... how does that work?” I asked, because to me that doesn’t make sense.

“It comes down to the world structure.” The young God said. With a wave of his hand, he made a diagram appear. It had three larger sections, and each of those were split into ten smaller ones. “There are the general world classes. Divine,” He pointed at the topmost large section. “Common,” He said as he pointed at the middle section. “And Chaotic.” That was naturally the bottom one.

“As you might see, each tier is then divided into 10 tiers. 10 being the ‘strongest’ and 1 being the weakest.” He explained.

“Alright. … and why are you explaining this to me?” I asked.

“Because you have become a god. And for some reason the explanation fell to me, despite this not really being my area of operation.” Mathias said. “I operate here, tier 9 of the Common class worlds.” He pointed at the second topmost tier of the middle section.

“But the world you currently live in, all these worlds around us, are here. Tier 5 of the Common class.” He said as he pointed it out.

“Doesn’t explain much.” I noted. “Like why I’m here. I might be a god, but I have no interest in this God business, at least not currently.”

“I know and I told them as much. I do keep an eye on those I’ve reincarnated, and you’ve run into two of them.” He said.

“... so you reincarnated Sora…”

“... Yes. Apologize for the issues he caused. … that is another reason why I had to do this.” Mathias said while lowering his head. “He almost crashed the Independent System experimental world 22_090, twice. Well, you also almost crashed it once, but you did fix it.”

“22_090? Like the TinaWood dungeon number?” That number cannot be a coincidence, so I had to ask about it.

“Yes. … I don’t actually know why, and the higher ups refuse to investigate, but you somehow slipped through a dimensional crack in your original world. Which shouldn’t have happened, since I wasn’t able to find one in the world afterwards. From there you somehow ended up in the Independent System experimental world 22_090, and since no physical body that would fit you was there, the world made one for you. Using the default path, which was dungeon 22_090.”

“Thanks. I still don’t know why I ‘fell out of my world’.” I commented. “Did you really bring me here to tell me that you know nothing?”

“... Yes. But also no. But yes. See… these experimental worlds … some of them have the same issue as 22_090. The barrier keeping the energy core, or ‘Chaos God Dimension’ as you know it, away from the livable worlds is weakening. … any chance you could … you know, be a God and fix them?”

“Fuck off.” I told him, but not angrily. I was just … disappointed. “Can’t I just be a normal guy doing normal things?”

“You can, but … if those worlds fully collapse, it might affect yours. So … please.” He said as he brought his hands together in front of him.

“... you know I can’t actually travel between … worlds? Why is everything called a world? You need to rename everything. This is stupid.”

“I didn’t name them!” Mathias defended himself. “And I’m a relatively new God! I don’t know, okay!”

“... Yeah. Alright. Sorry.” I apologized. It isn’t his fault, probably. “But again, I don’t actually know how to do that. The world travel I mean. I can fix the barriers as long as my skills work in the different worlds. … actually, I can’t summon Holactie in other worlds because she won’t have access to the Chaos God Dimensions power, so she will just cause more strain. So no. I apologize, but I cannot do that.”

“... and here I was hoping you’d become an overseer of this section. It doesn’t have one, you know.”

“Absolutely not.” I told him. “This is the worst job interview I’ve ever been in.”

“... I see. Well, I’ll give you a little something. It should help you learn how to world travel. … and if you change your mind, you can contact me with it.” Mathias said.

“... Yeah. I just might. … maybe after like 5000 years or something.”

“That isn’t a long time for a God, you know.” Mathias said.

“That is why I said it.” I agreed.

“Before I leave, a quick question.” I said. “... is there any way I can go back to my old world? Even just temporarily? Like a honeymoon?”

“... you maybe could, but the other six, no. Not as they are now.” Mathias answered. “The dragon is close and could maybe move up a world tier, but you originate from a tier 9 world, while they are from a tier 6 world. Going down is easy. But going up … requires you to be beyond strong. Perhaps when they reach the limits of the System, you might be able to. But before that, no.”

“... Alright. Thanks.” I told him.

I then returned to my new home world, to HomeBase and to my wives.

I may not have taken on the role of the God, not just yet anyway, but at least I’ll keep being someone who collects Yugioh cards, and maybe uses them to make the world a better place. ... and maybe one day, when I've had a full life, I'll try being an actual God who makes worlds other than the one he is living in a better place.
