CH.749 Showing Wilma what I made in the Past

So yeah. Workshop time.

As you may have noticed when I showed my status, I maxed out a lot of production skills. Including the advanced versions. So I made a lot of random stuff.

And today I was going over everything with Wilma. As there were plenty of interesting discoveries made. … okay, I’m not showing her everything, as the birthday gifts will be staying in Storage.

Speaking of Storage, it has new things it can do. I mean, it leveled up a ton. One of those is better skill integration. And important for this conversation is the way it can ‘use’ my skills to process items.

In short, Storage can replicate items held inside of it as long as I have the sufficient skills to make the item, and as long as I have the raw materials. And I have to have made an item like that at least once before Storage can produce more copies of it.

Because of that fact, I have a ton of phones in Storage. And I know you will ask. ‘Aren’t your phones made by HomeBase?’

And the answer is yes. Or at least they were. During my time in the past, I just began copying my own designs, and slowly learned how to make each piece of the phone myself.

Making the mana circuit boards was a massive pain at the start, each taking around 9 hours of concentration and hard work. But eventually I got good enough where I could make 10 boards in 2 hours. And when Storage finally leveled up to the point where it could copy what I’d done, I could just make an infinite number of them. They don’t use many expensive materials, it is just the production that is difficult.

Now assembling the damn things was another problem. Because I never designed a way to actually assemble them. In fact, I made them purposefully so that they cannot be taken apart non-destructively. That is because I didn’t want anyone to take one apart to study it.

So since you can’t do it without destroying the phone, and the phones sending me a signal when they are damaged, I’d know if someone tried to take one apart.

But that caused problems when I had to assemble them. Luckily by the time I began working on my production skills, I already had Space Magic at level 100, so I simply teleported all of the components to their precise spot inside the phone case. Telekinesis also helped, but it can’t cheat the ‘two things can’t exist in the same space’ rule like Space Magic can.

So long story short, I have a lot of phones.

… I also have things such as pre-fabricated buildings. Both in the terms you might be used to on Earth where they are ready made walls and other pieces that are then assembled into a house. And just complete buildings I can pull out of Storage. I had to level up Construction and Woodworking somehow. Because you can only carve so many wooden cups and bowls before you get bored.

Besides, you never know when a city is badly damaged or even completely destroyed because of a surprise fissure. Technically there should never be one, as I can just travel back in time to deal with the fissure ‘in time’, but they are higher dimensional forces than I am, so I really don’t know if that would even work. And the timeline correction problem might also show itself in those cases.

Yes, there are other options, but basically everything relies on either a future me coming to the current time, or a timeline correction.

So having a ton of prefab houses might come in handy. And as I said, I had to master my ever leveling up skills somehow. Not that I really have. I’m honestly more around level 50 to 70 in terms of ability. The rest is just artificial growth. But that is because I overpower basically all of my monsters and they can no longer really teach things. I have to learn on my own.

Yes some of my God monsters are still stronger than me, but they also suck as teachers. Mainly because they use Divine techniques and I can’t do that.

Anyway. I got off track telling you about my weaknesses. Back to Wilma.

I showed her how to produce integrated circuits and all of that fun stuff, but Wilma admitted that it would take her some time to learn how to put in all that detail. To which I responded by saying that it took me around 6 years to learn, so she was in no hurry. And I was already at a much higher level by then.

On the other hand, learning all of my building tips really helped Wilma. She hadn’t really used her Construction skill all that much, so getting help with that will be nice.

And since she has access to Tahlia, she can have the absolute ton of building blueprints we made while working with the Construction and Designing skills. There are other structures as well, like bridges, fortifications and even an entire castle, but ‘simple’ buildings are the best for learning Construction.

And when I say simple, I mean ones with about 4 stories, including a basement. They are difficult enough to be something you really need to think about, while also not being too challenging if you know what you are doing.

Now, there was still one person I wanted to talk to about my time in the Past. And she isn’t technically even a person, as she is a spirit.

Lachros, the Superior Spirit of Time.

The All-Mighty clearly knew him well, so there is a chance the God mentioned me if he talked with Lachros before he vanished from the System. And Lachros might know how I can use the Timeline Staff. I’ve only really used it by accident thus far, and learning how it really works would be helpful.

Getting to the spirit world was no problem. I’ve more than mastered Soul Magic to where I can just come here whenever I want.

Now I just had to move over to the space-time protected area where the two spirits I needed usually lived. And sure I could have summoned Lachros to the Factory, but I feel like a personal visit is needed in this case, since I’m asking about her life before meeting me.

And there is something I want to try. Last time, I had to use my cards to enter their space. But if I can exceed the speed of light, I should be able to get there myself.

Now, can I do it? No clue. Actually, in the regular world, probably not. But here, where time and space aren’t nearly as solid of concepts, I should be able to do it.

But before I could start, I had to ask the spirits that had already gathered to back away. Because almost as soon as I’d come to the spirit world, plenty of spirits had begun appearing next to me. Be it the wind spirits, who are carried by the winds. The nature spirits who came out of the flowers. Water spirits falling from a rain cloud overhead. Even a few space and time spirits showed up.

But, things were about to go crazy and I didn’t want them to get hurt. So after they gathered some ways away from me, I protected them with Space, Time and Gravity barriers. They’ll hopefully stop any unwanted effects from what I’m going to do.

I levitated into the air and prepared myself. I’d have to cast a lot of spells very quickly, and it should get interesting.

I started with Moon Magic, making an artificial moon that will help me control gravity. It is also where I’m going to launch myself. Since it is artificial, it will just break and split apart into mana, so I won’t crash into anything I’m not willing to destroy. The moon’s gravity will also help me accelerate.

I then used Erasure Magic to delete everything between myself and the moon. Just to make sure no air would be there. And I secured the space with both space and time barriers, just to make sure nothing would get in the way.

Next came the buff spells to make myself stronger. I stacked them one on top of the other, making sure they were spells that wouldn’t inhibit each other.

I then turned the moon’s gravitational pull at myself as high as I could, charged a ton of mana into my legs, and launched towards the moon using Sky Flicker.

But despite the great speed I got from that, it wasn’t quite enough. I needed one more big push to get even faster.

I gave myself that last push by pulling the Sword of Reality - Errelitea out of Storage. With it, my Strength and Magic get boosted massively. By 1,000,000 each. So with the additional strength, both physical and magical, I pushed myself past the speed of light just as the tip of my blade touched my artificial moon.

I didn’t feel anything for a split second. Maybe it was a longer time, but time is strange. I put away my sword and took in the space I had arrived in.

The theater looked nicer than last time. Last time it was … dead. Abandoned. Well, not quite. It was still clearly being taken care of, and it was in great condition. But it was all dark with no life.

Now though. The lights were on. The stage was brightly lit. And there were many small spirits here. Spirits of both time and space were greeting me.

And on the stage, there was something I didn’t expect. An egg. Like the eggs the two superior spirits were sleeping last time.

But I know it isn’t either of them, as the color doesn’t match. This one was pale-pink. … and the two superior spirits were standing next to the egg, looking it over as if it just appeared.

I walked towards the stage, greeting all the spirits on the way. And as I did, I noticed some pseudo spirits that had the same pink glow as the new egg. So there were some sort of new spirits around, but they didn’t have personalities yet.

“Hi Brian!” Iris greeted me, as I took the last steps up to the stage.

“Nice of you to visit.” Lachros said. “Here to solve your mess?” She didn’t say it in a mean way, but more like she was annoyed but also happy to see me.

“... I didn’t know I’d caused a mess. So, what did I do?” I asked.

“Nothing much.” Lachros said. “Just caused a gravity singularity and gave birth to a new superior spirit.”

“... okay? When?”

“Just now!” Iris said. “You were so fast that you crashed into the moon you made! And it collapsed in your wake, turning into a spirit egg.”

“... okay? That can happen?”

“Spirit Magic gives birth to pseudo spirits, if no spirits are available.” Lachros explained. “Powerful enough will give birth to ones that will stick around and develop a personality. And even more powerful will cause eggs to form. Eggs that can develop, and if they do, will hatch into a superior spirit.”

“... okay. So … a gravity spirit?” I asked.

“Yes. While we have considered birthing one, we have never had the need. But since you supplied the mana needed, we caught your gravity singularity and helped the egg form.” Lachros explained.

“... alright. So what do you need me to do? You clearly need something since you said ‘solve your mess’.”

“She isn’t stable yet.” Iris said, as the egg began to glow brightly. And just a few seconds later, a strong pulse of gravity ran across the room, throwing back all of the smaller spirits. Even Lachros and Iris had to sure up their footing to not get blown away.

“And we can’t control gravity.” Lachros added. “So a bit of help would be appreciated.”

“Yeah. Sure.” I said, as I brought up a skill. Not magic, but a unique skill.

I produced dark chains from my body, gently wrapping each around the egg. Each chain carried the ability to alter gravity, thus they were able to form protective rings around the egg, and stabilize the gravitational pulses it sent out.

As I was wrapping the chains around the egg, the pink pseudo spirits in the room began to gravitate towards my chains. Each entered the chain, turning a small part of the dark chain pink. And by the time they were all absorbed, the dark chain around the pink egg had turned completely pink.

I then brought out more chains, only to notice that my chains had also changed colors, and they were also now the same pale pink as the egg and the chains surrounding it.

“... so, is that all?” I asked the two spirits.

Lachros put her hand on the egg and after a while, she looked at me. “Yes. She seems to have stabilized. For now.”

“That’s good.” I sighed.

Well, this little quest for information began wonderfully. I just … gave birth to a spirit and turned my dark chains pink somehow. Well, as long as they still work, it is fine.
