Three days later, at Rustboro City Airport in the Hoenn region, Cain exited the building alone. He didn’t spend much time in the city, assuming Steven was still processing the experiences and lessons learned during the Sinnoh Tournament.
Without wasting any time, Cain took a vehicle and quickly left the city before summoning his Flygon, heading to Leafy Town.
His arrival was quiet. Cain made sure to enter his residence without drawing anyone’s attention. No one knew he had returned.
Meanwhile, old Matsuda, who had come back from Sinnoh after Cain’s revelation about Fairy-type Pokémon, remained busy with endless meetings at the Hoenn League headquarters.
The discovery of the Fairy type was not only a major event, but it had also come at a very delicate time. The League had to act quickly before regular trainers fully grasped the impact of the news.
The existence of this new type had to be officially announced, and the quality detection systems in Pokémon evaluation machines needed to be updated to include the Fairy type, as well as an analysis of its moves, effects, and power.
Although Cain had already reported that the Fairy type was effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting-type Pokémon, the League needed solid evidence.
