Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom

Chapter 637 - 636: The Unfortunate Flygon

After leaving Leafy Town, Cain summoned a new Pokémon.

Flygon!

Yes, this was the same Flygon that had belonged to Ren on Mythical Island, and also the only one of Ren's Pokémon that Cain deemed worthy.

With Ground and Dragon typing, Flygon shares the same typing as Garchomp. However, while Garchomp is known as the "Land Shark Dragon," Flygon is simply referred to as the "Desert Spirit Dragon."

This is because Flygon's primary type is Ground, with Dragon as its secondary type, whereas Garchomp is the opposite—a purebred Dragon.

That was why Ren had held Flygon in such high regard.

Looking at its Egg Moves, it was evident that Flygon's affinity with the Dragon type wasn't particularly strong. And given Ren's lack of talent in Pokémon training, Flygon had only reached a high level without being able to fully tap into its potential.

If Cain had trained Flygon from the beginning, by the time it reached level 49, it would undoubtedly have been capable of standing up to early-stage quasi-elite Pokémon.

In its current state, however, Cain primarily used it as an aerial mount.

Of course, Cain still trained it a little, and if Flygon could adapt to his training style and show significant improvement, Cain wouldn't hesitate to fully accept it.

After all, Dragon-type Pokémon were always valuable and quite rare.
