And it had been exactly three weeks since Steven left Leafy Town.
During the first week, Steven found several excuses to stay in the town until Cain finished thoroughly analyzing his two fossil Pokémon and calculating the most suitable training method for them. After that, Steven left.
To train those two Pokémon, Steven needed a lot of resources and rare materials that Cain did not possess. Only the Stone family could provide what was necessary to execute the plan Cain had devised.
Thus, Steven returned home.
It was then that Cain was finally able to enjoy a relatively peaceful life.
