Chapter 58 - 58: Reward, Gastly
Following the old Gastly, Cain and his team slowly walked out of the cave, which was as complex as a labyrinth. The Gastly they encountered along the way no longer looked at them with hostility; on the contrary, there seemed to be a sense of familiarity. Even Slowpoke began to feel sympathy for them.
Upon reaching the entrance of a new cave, the old Gastly stopped. Inside, there were many Gastly gathered together.
Cain looked at the old Gastly curiously. By now, they should be guiding them out of the cave, but instead, they had been led to another area.
However, it didn't seem like the Gastly were going to attack them, as there was no need to. If they did try, the Gastly surely knew it would be a fight ending in losses for both sides.
Before Cain could ask, the old Gastly spoke: "I mentioned before that if you helped us with something, we would give you a reward."
Saying this, it floated further inside, gesturing for Cain and his team to follow.
As they entered, the Gastly in the cave curiously watched them, gradually surrounding them.
Seeing the Gastly's behavior, Cain frowned. Although he didn't know what the old Gastly was planning, being surrounded as if they were animals on display made him feel a bit uncomfortable.
"Here are all our companions willing to join you. You can choose one of them to become your Pokémon," the old Gastly finally said, revealing what the reward was.

Cain was left speechless. It turned out the reward the old Gastly had mentioned for completing the task was letting Cain choose a Gastly.
