Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom

Chapter 36 - 36: Capture

Cain once again removed the remote control of Murkrow's additional weight. Facing a level 20 Slowpoke with the same green quality, Murkrow couldn't afford to be restricted in the slightest.

Freed again, Murkrow wasn't as excited as at the beginning. Against this Slowpoke, it felt the pressure.

However, despite Slowpoke's strength, its specialty was Psychic-type moves. But for a Dark-type Pokémon like Murkrow, what were Psychic moves? They had no effect. Therefore, Slowpoke was at a disadvantage from the start.

Even so, Slowpoke showed no intention of giving up. On the contrary, it became braver and more excited as the battle progressed. Even with the simple Water Gun move, it executed it masterfully. Thanks to its level advantage and excellent physical condition, it held its ground firmly in the battle against Murkrow.

After another confrontation, Murkrow was panting, and Slowpoke lay on the ground, not as active as before. However, its eyes shone brightly, reflecting emotions of excitement, satisfaction, and happiness.

During the battle, although Cain constantly directed Murkrow, he also paid attention to the changes in Slowpoke. He gradually learned about this Slowpoke. The reason this Slowpoke was alone here was likely not just because of its color but also due to its personality.

If it weren't for its Slowpoke appearance, Cain might have mistaken it for another Water-type Pokémon full of fighting spirit.

"Murkrow, use Dark Pulse one more time. Let's give this future companion a little rest," Cain said, observing Slowpoke's exhausted state. A Dark Pulse with double damage would be enough to knock it out.

Although Murkrow was very tired, it still had the strength to launch a few more moves. With one breath, the Dark Pulse formed and launched the final attack on Slowpoke.

Slowpoke, already exhausted, had lost the ability to resist. Although it had a higher level than Murkrow, being a Pokémon specializing in Psychic moves it couldn't use, its disadvantage was evident from the beginning. Defeat was only a matter of time.

"It would be great to keep fighting like this." Slowpoke didn't feel much about its defeat, but its obsession with battle made it remember this thought as it lost consciousness.
