Chapter 348: Monster!
The Valkyries blinked at their man in confusion as he sprinted full speed toward solid stone.
Why was Kaiden doing that?
His greatsword dissolved in a rush of crimson mist, collapsing into streams of blood that whirled back into the Blood Monarch’s Gauntlet. His aura flared violently.
*BOOM!*
He slammed into the wall shoulder-first, instantly making stone crumble before his might as his raw physical strength tore a gaping hole wide enough to storm through.
Dust rained down as bricks were torn apart, collapsing. Kaiden stood framed in the ruin, ignoring the debris falling right on top of him, crimson eyes glowing like burning coals.
"Quickly! The monsters have wings, so running in the open is to their advantage! If we go through the buildings, we cut off their biggest advantage, and we might save people before they’re eaten alive at the same time!"
That was all his women needed to hear.
Nyx’s hand moved, making space distort as the two children rose gently into her arms, earning another "Wow..." though it was coming from the girl now. The boy was too busy watching Kaiden’s back.
Nyx cradled the kids as if they weighed nothing at all, then darted through the hole right behind Kaiden. The rest followed in tight formation.
Inside, screams erupted. The sudden explosion of stone and dust had shattered the barricade its residents had erected and terrified the occupants.
The room was dim, lit only by a single lamp, windows sealed with nailed planks. Huddled together against the far wall was a family of four. A man clutching a baseball bat, a young woman with wide eyes, an older woman clutching a rosary, and a girl barely a teenager. Their bodies trembled as they stared at Kaiden’s towering form.
