Chapter 330: Aftermath
As the leaders of ChronosX were rushing back to the safety of their headquarters, the stream continued. Seconds bled into minutes, and before they even knew it, hours had passed.
At last, Kaiden straightened in the bath with his arm draped along the edge of the pool. His voice, when it came, was steady but soft. "Alright, everyone. I think that’s where we’ll wrap it up tonight. Thank you, truly, to those of you who stayed with us, who believed in us. We won’t forget it. Together, we’ll keep moving forward."
Aria spoke up next with a chirpy voice. The camera panned to show wet hair sticking to her cheek, making her radiant smile even more adorable. "Yes! Thank you for watching, and for standing with us. It means more than you can imagine!"
One by one, the Valkyries echoed their gratitude until the broadcast cut to black.
The silence that followed was heavy, but not uncomfortable. "Ahhh..." All at once, they sagged back into the steaming water, exhaling in perfect unison, their tension melting away as if it had been drawn out with the rising mist.
Nyx, perched snugly on Kaiden’s left thigh, lifted her chin and gave a triumphant grin. "That went way better than I expected!"
Across from her, Luna lazily floated on her back on top of the surface of the spring as her hair spread out beneath the girl like rippling silk. She raised her right hand to her face and inspected her wrinkled fingertips with a smirk.
"Are you sure about that, though, bimbo? The like-to-dislike ratio is still sitting at eighty percent against us."
Bastet, seated proudly on Kaiden’s right thigh as if it were her rightful, glorious throne, tilted her head to the side curiously. Her golden eyes shimmered with a kitten-like innocence as her tail flicked against Kaiden’s crotch playfully.
"Mmm... I think I finally understand these numbers you’re all fussing about." She purred while leaning in to lap at Kaiden’s cheek, leaving a faint trail of her saliva on his skin before adding, "But up until a while ago, that ratio was even worse. If it improved, doesn’t that mean we’re doing well?"
