Kaiden’s smirk faded as he kept petting Nyx’s cheek, his mind turning inward.
Luna had gone a bit too far, he agreed with that sentiment of the chatters. The rivalry between her and Nyx had always been both competitive and playful, with Nyx dishing it out as well. It was not one-sided bullying.
But Luna crossed a line today. If the Space Valkyrie hadn’t strongly asked him to stay out of it, he absolutely would have pulled Luna aside for a serious talk.
Even now, he wondered if letting it slide would fester. He didn’t want to lord over his women like some tyrant, but if things ever got out of hand, he’d "clean house" without hesitation.
For now, though, he decided to trust them to sort it out themselves.
His eyes drifted back to Nyx, who was peacefully snuggled against him. As soon as his eyes landed on her blissful visage, the chaos of the chat seemed a whole world away.
