"Chairman, we still found no leads on the connection between the Russian terrorist who made an attempt on the president’s life and his home country. As a loyal citizen of the United States, the recent days have been extremely trying on my mental well-being. I feel I’m not doing my duty unless I travel there in person and conduct a thorough investigation myself. Vladimir himself invited me to do so. Though, he also said he wanted to show me his great country once I concluded they had nothing to do with it, so it might take a while for me to return."

Numerous veins bulged on the chairman’s arms as he outright tore the second armrest off of his chair and threw it to the ground. His frustration was palpable, and the sound of the armrest shattering mirrored the growing tension in the room.
"It seems you’re in the middle of something. I’ll leave you to it," Vespera said and terminated the communication line without waiting for his response.
It took an entire minute for the chairman to calm himself. Grace dutifully stood still like a statue while waiting for her boss to either dismiss her or…
"So, Miss Grace, as the person tasked with observing this lovely woman’s son, did you catch something meaningful that might’ve flown by my ears without notice?" Sarcasm was present in his tone as he referenced Grace’s earlier words when she asked him to put Vespera on speaker mode.
She completely ignored his tone and smiled brightly, "Sir, I believe Vespera Ashborn isn’t very fond of you, and she might betray her country should we mess with her son."
