Chapter 101: Preparing the Ingredients
"So... Begin by heating the water in a large pot, adding the carnivore rabbit bones, slime extract, garlic, ginger, onion, and dried mushrooms. Bring it to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the slime extract fully," Kaiden read the instructions from Madame Spice’s book utterly shamelessly, making Sarah giggle, "Hehehe! He truly had no clue at all! I knew it; he’s winging it!"
"Yes, Chef!" Aria shouted merrily and brought out a big pot, filled it with water, and put it on the stove. Luna, meanwhile, moved to grab the bones and slime extract. Nyx elected to begin chopping. Since her part took longer, the other two soon joined her in the cutting duties.
While they were busy with the preparations, Kaiden put on a pleasant background music track that made the atmosphere of the stream even better. It had a very nice vibe to it, Sarah thought, as she licked her spoon clean of any remaining N*tella.
"Slime extract... We just started cooking, but I already don’t wanna taste it..." Luna grumbled under her breath in her typical adorable manner.
"I heard it’s an ingredient that elevates many meals to the next level," Nyx responded.
"Alright. It says... While the broth simmers, take all of the proteins and thinly slice them into even, bite-sized pieces. Arrange them on separate plates for easy access," Kaiden continued once they were done.
"Master- I mean, Chef, you should introduce the meats!" Nyx nudged.
Kaiden nodded, cleared his throat dramatically, and gestured toward the counter where the selected meats were arranged in simple trays. "Ladies and gentlemen, allow Master Chef Kaiden to present our premium selection of dungeon delicacies. Feast your eyes on these horribly expensive, overpriced proteins!"
Nyx simply grinned at her lover’s antics, Luna muttered something about "boundless shamelessness," while Aria clapped enthusiastically.
"First!" Kaiden dramatically pointed to the tray containing reddish-pink meat. "The infamous carnivorous rabbit whose bones we already used for the broth! Don’t let its size fool you—this creature of terror can bite through steel. However, its corpse provides tender, lean meat with a mild, gamey flavor. A classic of dungeon cuisine!"
