Chapter 133: Waking Up
The warmth of the midday sun filtered gently through the curtains, casting golden streaks across the wooden floor and soft bedsheets.
A faint breeze came through the slightly ajar window, carrying the scent of blooming flowers from the garden below.
The room was silent—peaceful, save for the rhythmic ticking of an ornate mana-infused wall clock and the quiet rustle of leaves swaying outside.
Orion slowly stirred beneath the covers, his consciousness pulling itself out from the wretched hands of the goddess of sleep. His body felt heavy, but not in a burdensome way.
It was a satisfying exhaustion—the kind that followed a moment of accomplishing something big.
"Mmm..." he groaned lightly, eyes fluttering open to the familiar ceiling of his room. The moment the bright light hit his pupils, he blinked slowly, shielding his face with an arm.
It took him a second to adjust before he finally sat up, the sheets slipping from his chest, revealing the bandage wrapped loosely across his left shoulder.
Not from injury—Selene had placed it there with a rune-infused healing medicine, just in case the strain of overusing his Sea of Consciousness left any internal backlash.
"...I’m back," Orion muttered softly, glancing around the room. It was quiet.
No Rina hopping around. No Fiora gently adjusting curtains.
Just him.
