Chapter 153: Fighting The Dragons
"So, does that mean that... human..." one of the elders began, his voice faltering with disbelief.
"How... could you not tell us something so important?" another elder asked, his tone filled with a mix of confusion and frustration.
"Yes, he is the one the King told me about," Alarion replied steadily, his eyes firm as they met the others. "When Taylor informed me about the stolen egg, the token reacted for the first time in all these years."
Hearing his words, a deep silence fell over the place. No one spoke. Every elder stood still, their minds overwhelmed, trying to process what this revelation truly meant.
"So, if it wasn’t the egg of our race... then which race does it belong to?" the Grey Dragon Elder asked, his expression filled with concern and uncertainty.
Alarion shook his head slightly and replied, "I don’t know. The King never told me about that."
He looked down for a moment before continuing, "In fact, what worries me more is that the King explicitly warned me not to harm the one who takes the egg. And yet, without knowing, we have already tortured him..."
His words seemed to cast a heavy shadow across the chamber. Taylor’s expression darkened, his gaze dropping to the floor. Even Kristos looked visibly troubled, his face tense and full of regret.
Taylor gritted his teeth before speaking again, "Then... why don’t we just kill him? He’s still weak. If we finish him off now, all of this mess will be over. We won’t need to think about what comes next."
But his words were abruptly cut off.
