Chapter 38: Don’t Let Lord Romon Get Too Tired
Spidevs still thought Nini was the same girl she could control at will, just like before. She still believed she could freely decide what happened to Nini’s body.
"Teacher, why are you in such a hurry to see Lord? Didn’t I say so already? Lord knew you were coming, so he sent me here to meet with you. You haven’t even said whether you agree or not."
"Enough!" Spidevs shoved Nini aside, thinking the girl was just flaunting her job and putting on an attitude on purpose. "I’m going to kill your precious Lord, put his lovely head at your bedside, and remind you every single day who the hell you really ought to listen to, you filthy cat!"
Upon hearing this,
Nini couldn’t help but feel a murderous urge rise within her.
But she couldn’t act just yet. Given Spidevs’ current mood and the distance between them, even if she tried a sneak attack, she wouldn’t be able to kill her in one blow.
By the time Spidevs realized what was happening, the one to die would be her.
She needed to push Spidevs’ emotions, to get a little closer—close enough to guarantee a successful surprise attack. Only then could she make her move.
Even though the collar had boosted her abilities, there was still a clear gap in strength between them. She had to use emotional manipulation to bridge that gap.
