Ye Wuhen and Zhao Lingxi
"Second Uncle, you summoned me."
Ye Wuhen walked into the room with somewhat restrained steps, his youthful face bearing a pair of spirited eyes filled with reverence as he looked toward the stern, one-armed man before him.
The man stood upright like a proud pine tree, his entire being radiating the imposing aura of one who had long held high position. His empty sleeve swayed gently in the wind, silently telling of past vicissitudes. He was none other than the high-ranking, second-only-to-one figure in the Longevity Sect. In Ye Wuhen’s heart, apart from his father who had been in seclusion for so long, Second Uncle was the most remarkable presence in the sect.
Recalling the past, since Ye Wuhen’s childhood, his father, the sect master, had resolutely entered death seclusion, and since then father and son had never met again. Through the long years, all matters great and small of the Longevity Sect, every affair from top to bottom, had fallen upon Second Uncle’s shoulders. He devoted all his energy to managing the sect’s operations.
"Wuhen, sit."
Second Uncle slightly raised his eyes, shifting his gaze from the scroll in his hands. Though his expression remained stern, his tone carried the unique warmth of an elder as he gestured for Ye Wuhen to take a seat.
"Oh, alright."
Ye Wuhen hurriedly responded, carefully settling into a chair nearby. He placed his hands properly on his knees, straightened his back, appearing both obedient and nervous.
"How have you been getting along with the Thirteenth Princess these days?"
Second Uncle set down the scroll, his gaze sharp as a torch, fixed intently on Ye Wuhen, as if trying to discern every subtle change of emotion on his face.
