Chapter 41: Who Is At Fault
As soon as I pulled into the driveway, I slammed the car door shut and stormed into my apartment, barely remembering to lock the door behind me.
I paced the living room like a caged wolf, fingers dragging through my hair.
"She chose him..." I muttered under my breath, the image of Hailee walking up to me with his scent all over her burning into my mind. "Of all people—Nathan."
I scoffed bitterly and dropped onto the couch.
"Forget her," I whispered, clenching my fists. "She’s not yours. She never was."
But that was a lie. I wanted her to be. She was the one I cared about. The one I saw as more than just a pretty face.
And she ran into the arms of someone like Nathan.
Before I could spiral further, a knock sounded on the door.
I frowned, pushing myself off the couch. Who the hell was that?
