Chapter 106: Unfamiliar.
"Fine. You’re right." He sighed, leaning into the seat and opening his eyes."I’m worried, scared as hell, mention it. I’m worried about everything. Beth, you guys, the pack, the company. My world revolves around these four things, and yet I can’t keep any of them safe from this damn network. It makes my chest ache every single day. I can’t seem to find peace, or sleep relatively well, knowing there’s someone out there, in the company, in the pack, planting horrible seeds. A lot of things can go wrong."
"Sometimes it feels like I’m being torn apart. I’m so tired." He said, leaning forward to lean his head on his arms, he had folded on the table.
Loads of silence settled between them as his brothers assimilated his words, understanding and sadness flooding their hearts like a river.
"But we’re three of us, Trist. We all carry the same weight, live relatively the same life, and we share the same mate. We are part of you. Not just your brothers. You can’t and shouldn’t carry all that weight." Troy said softly, his eyes full of sadness and concern as he looked at his fairly elder brother.
"But-"
"There are no buts here, Tristan. Honestly, I’m kinda pissed you put all of this on yourself. What were you thinking?" Theo asked, anger in his tone.
"Theodore -" Troy tried to hold him back, but Theo wasn’t having it.
"No, Troy! When would he finally learn that just because he was born two minutes before us doesn’t mean he’s meant to carry all the weight while we just get to stay as underdogs, and only support when he feels we need to? That needs to stop, Tristan! It needs to stop now." Theo scolded, anger and concern dripping from his words.
"At this rate, you’d wake her. We still have a lot to handle, unless you want to tell her about the network." Troy warned quietly, knowing that would do the trick.
"Shut up, Troy." Theo spat, rolling his eyes as he took a deep breath.
