Chapter 55: Part Of Life.
"Bethany." He breathed, his feet stuck in place took in her hunched figure with wide dumbstriken eyes.
"Bethany." He exclaimed, rushing to were she sat, completely naked, surrounded by thankfully warm water that had overflown from the tub.
He quickly but gently scooped her half conscious body from the water, putting his head as close as possible to her chest, listening for her heartbeat, heaving, adrenaline pulsing through him.
When he finally heard it, a bit low but there, he released a sigh of relief. Reaching for a hanger not too far away, he grabbed a purple towel using it to cover her as much as he could as he stepped out of the bathroom, making a beeline for her bed.
Thankfully, he made it there on time without slipping on her marble tiles, placing her under the covers, immediately snatching a tiny remote control from her drawer, pressing a button to turn up the heat.
He used the towel to dry off the droplets of water that coated her skin, anger and annoyance bubbling in his chest as he wiped her dry, pulling up the covers when he was done.
His eyes were trained on her peaceful features as he wondered what exactly had transpired between her and his brother.
Despite how pissed he was, he couldn’t get himself to place it on anyone or anything, no matter how much he really wanted to. All he could do was stare at her peaceful face, while she slept.
He sat steady beside her on the the bed, feeling her forehead, hands and feet every now and then to see if she’d warmed up enough so he could take her to his place.
Although he wished it was happening under better circumstances.
He sighed when he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, indicating he had a call, put he pressed a button on the side through his cloth, muting it.
