Chapter 3: Meeting the boys.
Approaching the building, her very sensitive nostrils caught on to something that made the warning signs in her head blare louder than ever. Shock and fear glinted in her eyes as she saw his figure closing in on her... like a lion to its prey.
"Shit! " She cursed out loud. "How is that even possible?!" Screaming, she turned around, dashing east, making a beeline to their pack border.
She wasn’t sure how she expected to out run an Alpha male, or why she was heading for their pack border, but there was no fucking way she was going down without a fight.
She pumped her feet hard into the soft soil, which made running in her human form even harder than she expected.
She carried on running for a while, actively fighting down the feeling of frustration that crept into her mind, as she heard his heavy footsteps slowly closing the distance between them.
The fact that he hadn’t closed in on her made her frustration worsen. It was as if he was taking his time, letting her think she could win somehow.
Asshole.
She contemplated shifting to her feline form but couldn’t trust her bitchy wolf to not betray her, so she kept pushing.
Seeing the border fence a few kilometers from where she was elicited warm hope within her, causing her to pump her already burning legs harder, her heart feeling lighter with every meter she covered, until she smelt him again. Three times more than ever.
She has never felt so afraid and intoxicated in her life.
She looked around her, trying to decipher where exactly he stood, but she couldn’t see anything; all she could see were trees and a clearing not too far from where she stood.
