Chapter 197: A Strange Tea [Christian POV]
"Here. Drink it while it’s still warm," said Morgan, handing me a beautiful teacup filled with steaming hot tea.
The tea had a strong herbal scent, but it wasn’t so overpowering that it was difficult to drink. I held the teacup in my hands for a few moments before taking a small sip.
"What do you think? This tea is made with special herbs to help promote sleep at night. I hope it’s to your liking."
Across from me, Morgan watched as I drank my tea. There was a flash of excitement in her eyes.
Is she that concerned about me liking the tea she brewed?
The way she looked at me made me feel a little creeped out, as if she were ready to eat me.
"So..what have you been up to these last few days?" I asked, trying to fill in the awkward silence. I didn’t particularly care about what she was up to, but I didn’t want to sit in silence either.
Her eyes lit up. "Well, outside of thinking about you-- which I did every day... On Monday, I went shopping..."
I instantly regretted asking her the question. For the next two hours, she told me everything she’s done since the last time I saw her, all in great detail.
"And then on Saturday, I went shopping again and bought a new dress. The dress is all green with a square neckline and lace accents on the bottom of the skirt..."
I felt my eyes begin to glaze over. A little too much.
Is it the tea that’s making me so tired?
