Chapter 166: Familiar Face [Christian POV]
It was mid-afternoon by the time I left the company. The half-empty bottle of painkillers rattled in my pocket. It was the only way to fight the headache that only continued to get worse, but nothing was going to stop me from gathering the evidence I needed.
Just wait for me, Leslie. I’ll get the evidence.
Hopefully, after getting the evidence, she would trust me again, trust me enough to believe that she’s very important to me.
Ideally, I would focus on regaining my memories first. But since there wasn’t anything I could do that would actively help me recover them, I shifted my focus to getting evidence.
As I made my way down to the parking garage, I pulled out my phone and dialed Zach.
"Hey, Christian. What’s up?" he asked after a few rings.
My face turned serious. "I need you to tell me exactly what you’ve gathered so far on the Moresis. It’s time that I do some investigating of my own."
Zach’s voice turned cheerful, "This is great, man! Absolutely, I’ll tell you everything I know! Wanna meet up somewhere?"
"Sure, meet me at the usual spot. I’m heading there now," I said before ending the call.
Truthfully, I wasn’t in the mood to chat with Zach, but he had the information I needed. Without him, I wouldn’t even know where to begin.
I got into my car, slamming the door shut. It seemed that every little thing aggravated me more than usual, including something as menial as closing the car door.
