Chapter 116: Anxiety
I waited in the booth for over twenty minutes when I heard the door open. The entire time I was in the room, I felt restless, like something bad was going to happen.
The last thing that Christian said was that he would be right back, but nearly half an hour went by and there was still no sign of him.
"Where is everyone?" Morgan asked, looking around the empty booth. She was wearing the earrings she had won with a smug expression.
"Someone came by to get Karl, and Christian said that he was going to step out for a moment. It seemed urgent..." I replied.
My anxiety only got worse after saying everything out loud. I looked at Morgan, hoping that she would insist on going to find Christian, but instead, she walked over to the couch and sat down.
"Oh, in that case, I’ll just wait here. Maybe he secretly bid on an item for me and wants to surprise me!"
Morgan’s words blew past me. A part of me hoped that her scenario was true.
I continued to turn my head, looking towards the door behind me, waiting for Christian to return.

The concert finished two hours later, and everyone was either going to retrieve their purchased items or heading home. At this point, I knew something was wrong. It wasn’t like Christian to simply leave without saying anything.
Karl also didn’t come back for the entire night, raising my suspicions even more.
